12oz brown bottle. The colour is golden, lots of
haziness and yeast specks. Creamy white cap with
good retention and sticky lacing. Nose has wheat,
caramel and a bit of spice and orange. Taste is
wheaty withsome spice, orange hints and a little
fruitinessin the background. Very carboanted,
light bodied. A touch over average, refreshing.

Bottle, no date. So no idea if it’s fresh or ancient. First bottle review was 5 months ago, which is in range for some brewery’s best by system. But unless they stamp it I don’t know. Pours a nice golden yellow with a thick foamy head. It smells like Heineken in a moldy basement. Skunky bad beer. Taste is gross as well. Bitter wheat with no hops to balance it out.

Bottle split at GBBF, day 2, 13/08/14 - thanks to Kenvold.
Clear golden with a moderate off white covering that retains, carbonation evident.
Nose is grain, cereals, light caramel, straw, citric notes.
Taste comprises citric zest, straw, bread dough, light mandarin.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Decent for the style.

Scipio (1239) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - SEP 11, 2014
Pours a clear, darker golden with a thin, bubbly white head. Rather faint aroma has wheat, yeast, and floral hops. The taste is brings out some maltiness. Wheat, caramel, nuts, grain, and some minor floral aspects. There is some mild bitterness in here. Aftertaste is a grainy wheat flavor. Medium bodied with some average carbonation. I’d describe the texture as neutral. Not much more to say about this one.

This is a pretty decent wheat w/ an interesting hop character. It is cloudy orange w/ only a small head. Nose is mildly hoppy and fruity but some sweetness really brings out the hops once you taste it. The interesting thing here is this seems to have a good deal of watermelon rind or lightly floral cucumber character. It works really well in a light beer like this and is quite pleasant. I just find myself wishing this was a little bit dryer and lighter on the palate w/ more carbonation to make it truly drinkable. As it is, this is a nice beer but a few tweaks and it could be excellent.

GBBF Day 2. Bottle. Clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, crisp and dry. Light smooth malts, slightly sweet. Light floralness. Light dry finish. Not bad.
