Smells like strawberries. Near black. Creamy cappucino colored head. Tastes almost exactly like the ice cream.
Almost black beer with a tan head. During aromas of chocolate and strawberries. Tastes of sweet milk chocolate, some earth, subtle hints of vanilla, and very light strawberry sweetness. Cloyingly sweet with an oily mouth feel. Sweet, lactic finish. This is liquid bliss, tastes like drinking ice cream without being a novelty brew. Amazing beer. johndoughty (5403) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2017
Bottle. Black with a small head.Lovely vanilla flavoured maltiness with strawberries in the background. though it might be a novelty beer but it turned out to be an excellent beer. My first from this brewery. MetalNHopHead (1901) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - JUN 2, 2017
I’m cynical about most anything that’s new, and this is my first brew from Saugatuck. I sort of expected this brew to be gimmicky. In fact, it was wonderful. This brew pours black with a rich tan head. The nose is malty sweet. Flavor is about as hedonistic as it can get while still being classy. Had I not known from the name that this Stout was supposed to taste like Neapolitan ice cream, I would have noted the clear notes of chocolate and vanilla but would have just identified the strawberry as general fruitiness. It’s just as well that the strawberry is the most muted element in this trinity - berry flavors sometimes get a little weird for me in Stouts. This is a dessert beer that could win over just about anybody. Even though the stated 37 IBU’s is a standard range for Sweet Stouts, Saugatuck Neapolitan tastes much less bitter than that. Unlike most Stouts, this really does taste better at a cooler temperature. Liquid ice cream indeed. rekamyenom (2) - Seminole, Florida, USA - APR 2, 2017 does not count
This is a great milk stout with just a hint of sweet, perfect for after meals. LinusStick (3447) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 31, 2017
Wow! Delicious beer. Aroma was fantastic. Big ice cream flavors. Just like opening a container of Neapolitan. A little chocolate and vanilla with big berry smellls. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a one finger tan film for a head. Taste was delicious. It literally tasted like a bite of the namesake’s ice cream. With my OCD I could not eat the flavors mixed. I always ate one flavor then the next, but when the ice cream would melt and mix together, this beer is what it would taste like. Just like the aroma, the strawberry was very strong and the chocolate was the backbone. Vanilla was just an afterthought, but was there and came out more as it warmed. Mild carbonation.

355ml bottle poured into a snifter. Pours black with a small beige head. Nose is sweet ice cream; vanilla and raspberry. Ya state follows suit with extra sweetness from the lactose. Medium mouthfeel helps with the ice cream experience. Could do with more roasted bitterness to balance. Cavie (4654) - Arlington, Texas, USA - MAR 14, 2017
Bottle. Dark brown to black color. Tan head. Roasty nose. Sweet milk chocolate aroma. Full bodied. Dark roast, sweet chocolate, strawberry notes. Interesting.

Bottle from trade. Nice different aroma some fruits and candy. Taste was too odd for me. Artificial candy Odd brew. Don’t need another Tognetta (951) - São Paulo, BRAZIL - MAR 9, 2017
12 ounce bottle. Pours a barely translucent black with a very small beige head. Faint sweet roasted malt nose with a hint of berry. First sip is sweet roasted malt. Yes, there are notes of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Middle is mostly cocoa flavor, like a brownie. Thin bodied for a stout. Finish is light bittersweet chocolate. Slightly chewy mouthfeel.
