Bottle. Aroma is orange juice, vanilla, oak, and caramel. Tastes so well balanced between juicy citrus, vanilla, oak, caramel and pine. Nice lively carbonation. Very smooth. Not usually a big fan of BA IPA’s but this one is great.

Poured from a single bottle, dark orange with white head, I get some IPA qualities but like with most of the barrel aged stuff it seems to be covered up with whatever was in the barrel previously, in this case bourbon, and as with most of these I will need to find the barrel free version.

12oz bottle from Armanetti in Huntley. Excited to have something from Saugatuck - a brewery I enjoy - for my 250th DIPA. No bottle date - does it matter on a barrel aged DIPA? Pours a murky amber orange with an off white head. Aroma has orange juice and vanilla. Later in the glass, some pine and the malt base shows through. Taste is of citrus, light pine, heavy vanilla and a solid caramel base. Smooth and well blended with the orange/vanilla/caramel. Medium to full bodied with some alcohol. Finishes mostly sweet with some bitterness hanging in. Love the combo of flavors and the overall smoothness wins out. 15.2

355ml bottle. Hazed amber pour. Aroma is pina colada. Flavor is also pina colada, some caramel and vanilla thrown in, slight funk int he finish. Nice stuff.

Bourbonny sweet and boozy start. Finishes with a bitter boozy bite. Bottle pour at home that is deep red in color with a reddish brown head. Smells like bourbon ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle thnx to the brewer . Pours very muddy dark amber / brown. No real head. Smell is bit sweet ( bourbon ? ) and some grassy hops. Taste is pretty good though . Clearly bourbon. Some bitter and mildly hopped undertone. Good malty base, providing a well-bodied mouthfeel and perfect carbo. Bourbon has the upperhand, but does not kill anyhting else in sight.
