1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
Pint at The Well. I guess Knoxville is not allowed to have a decent microbrewery creating drinkable American styles. I was not expecting much from this beer and I was let down. It’s a copper color with a white head. The aroma is unmistakably British with notes of toffee, wood, buttered popcorn, and vegetables. Already losing my appetite for beer from the aroma, the flavor really hammers my disdain for this moment. What a mess. British styles are supposed to be inoffensive, drinkable, watery. This is punishing from the get go with aggressive candy corn and butter flavor snidely sneering at my palate with an annoying lack of consonants and nonsensical rhyming slang. There is some kind of bitterness imparted by the hops and one could make a case that toffee flavor is present. The finish is thick and unforgiving. Candy corn and butter bomb.
Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can poured into a glass. Aroma is light herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is light herbal hops. two7offsuit (448) - Massachusetts, USA - FEB 15, 2016
Had at Alamo Steakhouse in Tennessee. Pours golden with white head. Aroma is a mix of hops, malt and citrus. Flavor is malty for a pale ale. Very good though. Ed5388 (3480) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - FEB 8, 2016
12oz can from Bobby! Pours a hazy orange color with a small foamy white head. Aroma of sweet grains, yeast, and old oranges. Taste mimics the nose. Lots of sweet graininess, orange marmalade, bitter grassiness, and a yeasty finish. Meh geologyguy (1602) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - JAN 8, 2016
Unique malty vinegar smell, taste is slightly smoky with malt, hops on finish a little too strong...hurts the beer, steelhead3686 (270) - Jacksonville, North Carolina, USA - JAN 1, 2016
Had this at The Alamo in Gatlinburg. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a white head that sticks to the glass. Heavy hops aroma that’s mostly spruce and/or pine with some citrus. Medium to strong bitter that hangs around for a bit. Medium body with a slightly thin but sticky texture.

Honestly a great quality pale. A little maltier than I would have expected, but still good.

12 ounce can poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a clear yellow with a white head of foam. The aroma has some mild pine bitterness, but mostly the beer reminds me of a saltless saltine cracker. Medium body and medium carbonation. LuckyDog (615) - - OCT 22, 2014
Very drinkable, but a little bland. Not very hoppy. A little malt character. decaturstevo (6244) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - MAR 23, 2013
Orange with foamy tan head and lace. Aroma is bready with light citrus hops. Dry malty start with a light/medium citrus bitter. A metallic after taste. Medium body with good carbonation. monkeychugg55 (1090) - Joliet, Illinois, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Dark copper with a small head that leaves a ton of thick lacing. The aroma is mostly toasted, caramel malt with some light citrusy hops. The flavor is decent with a nice mix of both malt and hops. Pretty bitter for what it is but I’m not complaining.
