2013-05-07 - at C’Est What, on cask. Deep flat-looking brown with red highlights, not much head at all (3-). Interesting aroma, alcohol, raw cinnamon, something spicy-bitter and acidic - borders on the medicinal, with emerging urinal cake notes. Taste ... classic nutty/light coffee porter, but earthy and jalapeno-spicy, somewhat, a fair bit of cocoa - reminded me of pollo en mole sauce - cocoa and peppers, not much alcohol. Thick and still, sticky and spicy, finishes almost gritty ... weird, but I didn’t hate it - really needed some life in the mouthfeel. mabel (9245) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 10, 2014
[5349-20130507] Cask. Medicinal PineSol herb aroma. Hazy, dark black brown body with no lasting head. Smoked roasted fruit flavour has a long almost sour roast aftertaste. Medium body is a little under carbonated and builds up a jalapeno heat. Really interesting but not a fan. (6/3/5/2/9-) 2.5

Cask at Sawdust City Tap Takeover, C’est What. Pours a murky brown with no head. Aroma of smoke, roasted malt, a hint of fruit and some very light hops -- that sounds good but it’s a bit of a mess. Flavour follows the aroma and is also a mess. The finish is iffy. Average bodied. Just O.K. jercraigs (10731) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 13, 2013
2013-05-07. Bizarre first taste. Smokey earthy vinous character is not what I was expecting. Quite fruity but the finish has a lightly ashen bitterness. Average bodied palate, very low carbonation. Aroma is similar, odd earthy sort of vinous character. Not sure what they were going for but I really do not care for it. Charred Chai and Cranberry, on cask at C’est What tap takeover. Brownish red bodied. Sweet, I am getting basil and other spice including some cayenne pepper and black pepper. Nice cask.
