COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Do you always dive right into the deep end or do you wade in slowly? Do you rush in or do you stop to think about it before you decide? Well sometimes it’s nice to take your time. There’s no need to rush, take it slow, ease in and get it right. And that’s exactly what we did with our Gateway Kolsch; we took the time to get it right. Paying homage to the lagered ales of Koln Germany, this Kolsch style ale is aged a little longer, letting all the flavours mellow, making it one easy beer to drink. Brilliant yellow and clear as a summer’s day, this golden ale is for all of you out there who like to sit back relax and take the time to get it right.

Very Coleen pour. Just a touch hazy. You can still see through it thou.. Lacy white head. No real discern able scent. Surprising amount of taste despite the near nothing scent. Has a stong grassy bitter taste. The type you get in some of those organic salads. There’s noting terrible about this but nothing great either. It’s alright.

Bright straw color with low activity. Extra foamy white 4 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with poor legs. Flavors of corn, lemon, grapefruits, wheat, hay, soft caramel, noble hops. Sharp straw and cereal feel, with zesty citrus. Slick and smooth full body with extra prickly and crispy carbonation. Medium strength finish, sharp grassy floral dry hops with a dash of citrusy fruits, a bit leafy and flowery, with notes of sweet grains and bread. Really fresh, heavy, and zesty, proper to the style, with the flavors having an american touch. Very tasty and pleasant to drink. The smell is a bit faint, and the carbonation is probably a tad too much. Still makes a solid summer beer. Overall very good quality craft.

Canned. Surprisingly light, yellow body with a large white head. The aroma has citrus and malts. The taste is fresh and citrusy.

Malty aroma with notes of grass. Clear golden colour. Clean front with bready flavours. Light body with a lively carbonation. Very pleasant and sessionable.

On draft at The Pour House in Toronto. Unfiltered yellow body, thin white head that is quick to disappear. Aromas and tastes both feature hay, grains, cereals, breads and some caramel malts. A decent Kolsch, but not really up my alley.

Can. Crisp pilsner malt, light citrus and grass in the nose. Crisp, lemony, herbal. Clean malt comes to a dry finish. Highly drinkable but not so interesting.

Very pale golden color. Very good German continental malt and noble hops. The body is a bit weak, hops are very low. Meh

It has a golden colour with average white head that sticks around. Its very crisp on the tongue, and leaves tingling sensation on it. Texture has just bit of oily hint to it and medium thickness.

Medium grainy aroma. Pours nice and sparkling with large head, clear. Flavour is to style with some slight sweetness at the front and lots of grain in the finish. Lively carbonation, refreshing!

I wonder if the “Gateway” in the name is the gateway to introduce people into craft beers. Sampled on draft this beer poured a clear light golden yellow with a puffy white head. The nose was very mild with hints of straw and citrus. Taste too was very mild. There was a pleasant crisp pilsner like quality, a little sweetness, a hint of noble hops and a crisp finish. The bitterness was very low, the body was light and the carbonation was medium high. This is a simple, very quaffable easy drinking summer beer.

On tap @ Buster Rhino's Oshawa. Pours a dull straw yellow with a small white head. Aromas are honey, florals, and some roasty grain. Tastes are mildly sweet honey, biscuit, and some grains. Light body, solid carbonation, short finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy
