COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You approach the solitary windswept pine as it sits stoically upon its tiny perch of Canadian Shield and you wonder to yourself, “Why does this beautiful tree stand alone?” Then as you step closer, in awe of its majestic splendour, a branch blows down and slaps you right across your face. Sawdust City’s Lone Pine IPA is aggressively hopped and bursting with flavours of pine and citrus, loaded with mounds of hops and balanced with a blend of 4 different malts. Like that truculent tree, each glass is like a pine bow across your face.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2016 On tap at Wvrst. Amber and cloudy. Citrus and tropical fruit aroma. Well balanced taste which finishes very hoppy and bitter. Another solid Ontario IPA comes to the market!

Can bought at the LCBO. Pours golden orange color with a soapy white head. Fantastic aroma of pine, malt and floral hops. Taste is a balance of malt, pine and medium bitter hops with a pleasant bitter hops long aftertaste. Medium carbonation. Alcohol in the background. High drinkability!

3-day old can from brewery. Pours almost clear yellow. Fresh pine hop aroma with grape notes. Taste follows the nose. Lovely balanced bitter finish. Easily a top 10 Ontario IPA. Maybe top 5.

473ml can from LCBO. Pours a hazy orange with some sediment. Very thin and foamy head, almost light and airy. Nose is citrus, pine, and fresh hops. Maybe some tropical fruit. Tastes of pine, grapefruit, and some sweeter malts. Bitterness hits you in the back of the tongue. Resinous, yet light. Hops are not quite balanced by the malts, but typical for the West Coast IPA style. A stellar brew. For sure on my top 10 IPA list. Rivals some of the IPAs from my local brewers. Would love an imperial version. Sawdust City has been turning out some amazing brews. Perhaps a summer trip to Gravenhurst is in the cards... Very well done.

Hazy yellow with an abundant clean white head. Resin, spice pungent nose and penetrating with s glow. Good piney bitterness which develops over the long haul and is complex with some sap, some citrus sweetness and herbal pepperiness. Intense but not extreme, strong but by no means brutish.
Very good.

Pours cloudy orange with an off white head that laces the glass. Aroma is pine, tropical fruits and citrus fruits. Citrus fruits, pine, and carmel malt flavours with a good balance of sweet and bitter.
