Can: Poured a black color stout with a nice brown foamy head. Aroma of green pepper and dry roasted malt is OKish. Taste is a mix of green pepper notes with some dry roasted malt. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad but too much green pepper notes for my taste buds.

Why did this first smell/taste like olives to me? Who knows what went wrong with me. Anyway, pours a cola black with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates (old can). Roasty + chocolate aroma, taste follows with sweetness upfront and a slight bitter finish. Medium body, noticeable carbonation but a bit too thin/watery. Paired well with my lamb burger though.

Sweet chocolate, vanilla, toasted oats. Sweet, medium body, soft carbonation. Cocoa, bitter chocolate, roasted nuts, dry-ish finish. (canned 09/06/16)

Very dark brown, not quite black; head is tan and foamy, average retention. Aroma is dry roasted dark chocolate and oat; malt, vanilla, slight dark fruit note. Taste is oat, dairy, chocolate, walnut - fairly low coffee profile for a stout. Nice creamy texture, carbonation is well handled. Solid stuff.

Dark brown color. Lots of cacao and quick milk. The body is too thin. But its ok.

Not sure how this is rated so high, very bland. Tastes a little bit roasted but other than that has nothing special going on

Can. Black in colour medium carbonation. Aromas are of chocolate syrup, and toasted malt. Flavors are of charred malt, chalk, a bit of dark chocolate and espresso powder. Light bodied, with virtually no oatmeal character.

Can. Dark brown pour with a small beige head. Aroma is pretty simple, malty, roasty chocolate. Taste is much the same - malty and a little sweet up front, some chocolate notes, a bitter and roasty finish. Very light taste, thin texture, weird carbonation. Not sure what they were trying to do here.

How is this beer rated so high? It sucks. Thin palate. Flat tasting with a sour finish. Wet dog aromas. Some roast. No thanks.
