On tap at Sawmill’s Smoko Room. Pours pale orange. Biscuits, nuts, lemon, vinegar. Don’t think I’m a serious lager lover...

Excellent strong lager. Clean and crisp. Light bready malt backbone ably supports the "boisterous" tropical hops. Finishes dry with tangy sour lime. More, please. This 2016 bottle carries a different deScription (boisterous tropical fruit aromas) than the one above, so I assume they have changed the recipe.

This is the colour of stewed apricots and has a film of white head that once filled the top of the glass. It is slightly hazy but has good trails of carbonation. Aromas of tropical fruits and hibiscus - tinned guava and mellow floral characters. It is sweet and fruity to taste as well. It carries with it a bit of body and well balanced bitterness. This is Rarotonga in a glass really and eminently enjoyable.

Tap. Pours a dark orange with a thin white head, real floral aroma, taste is bitter with a dry finish.

Good clarity in this light amber body. Head has very good retention and leaves sticky lacing on the glass.
Fruity aroma and flavor, with a notable apricot aspect to the aroma. Excellent bitter/sweet mix, with plenty of hop flavor (for style) and a solid, bready malt base.
O: Well done.

Draft at Beervana. Bright crystal clear gold color, white edge head. Nice floral and fruity aroma. Taste is clean, crisp, scant bitterness with tropical fruit and floral notes.

Aroma is reminiscent of a good German lager (even came in a ’flippy’); new to the site and been a few weeks since I had it, so not sure I can give you much in the way of other discriptors but compares favorably with the best lagers I’ve had. Darker golden with some cloudiness, white head; a touch bitter; medium body, long finish. A good ’drop’ - not the best Kiwi beer I’ve had but certainly a ’top quartile’ performer.

330ml bottle with swing top lid - Golden yellow nice head that laces strongly. a slight mustyness in the aroma but backed with strong hop and some alcohol warmth. Richness and warmth on the tongue initially. Sweet, butterscotch with a sherbert touch with quite a complex ’old ale’ type hop finish. Has been in the fridge a few months but held up reasonably well.
