No. 500!! When poured into my glass, this beer had a small sized tan head that contained fine-large bubbles that was mostly lasting. The body of this beer was clear with carbonation observed and a reddish-brown hue. The nose was malty and fruity with a malt and caramel flavoring. The palate was smooth and medium bodied. This beer left a good amount of lacing on the sides of my glass. thedm (6222) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 30, 2003
This brew poured a small head of fine to medium sized light brown colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a poor lacing and a softly carbonated transparent brown colored body. The aroma is a very nice caramel malt one and the mouthfeel is smooth with a touch of "Brown" feeling to it. The flavor is a medium strength roasted caramel malt one with a mild caramel overtone to it. It is a bit on the thin side and could use a bit more character to it, but still i liked it and would drink it again. 3fourths (9349) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 29, 2003
Clear amber brown with a thin light brown head and large bubbles. Malty nose with a nutty, raisen aroma. Flavor is of caramel, sopa pop, and sugar. This has an even nutty taste, though a bit thin. Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - DEC 29, 2002
Dark amber with a short-lived head. Low carbonation. Slight nuttiness in the aroma. Smooth and malty with some roasted and grainy malt flavors. Slightly grassy hop flavors contribute a little in the finish; hardly any bitterness. Slight sourness in the aftertaste. Not bad, but it doesn’t seem to have a lot of personality.

Medium brown color, large head. Medium hops and malts. Medium bodied, roasted malts, slightly sweet malts, good hop flavor. A simple beer, but very well done. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is malty, slight bitterness. The malts really come through on this beer. Jimmylib (169) - old bridge, New Jersey, USA - JUL 23, 2001

As with his Public lager, this dark style is quite drinkable. Good malt and hop balance that leaves your palate with a clean and refreshed feel, but still a quite flavor filled beer, not the least bit ’Wimpy’.
