Saxer Brewing Company--Pilsner Seasonal--1998 12 oz. Bottle. 5.50% ABV. (4.75 / 5.0) Rich straw golden color. Characteristic Pilsner, but bigger and hoppier than others. Sampled 9/15/1998. Saxer Brewing Company--Pilsner--1999 12 oz. Bottle. 5.50% ABV. (4.75 / 5.0) Rich clear light golden color. Good head intros strong Saaz front, but rich light textured really makes brew with its smooth light sweet ester cream body. Finishes clean with a light spicy hop note. Sampled 6/3/1999.

Pours a gold color in the glass. Good head. Nose and taste of pines, grass, spices and hops. Rated 1/24/2000

BückDich (5477) - McCall, Idaho, USA - JUN 10, 2004
Pale clear golden color with lots of head & sticky lacing. The aroma is fruity, malty with some pilsner malts. The flavor is balanced, a little tangy but pilsnery. Not too bad!

Golden and still with nice solid head. Very malty tones with an odd stringent, melon-like character.

whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 12, 2004
Loose, soapy white head and golden body loaded with planktonic matter. Nose is wheaty and nutty with dark honey and a hint of grass. Spicy, hoppy quality with some wood, raw nuts, and more honey. Very organic flavor. I’d call this a hybrid pils. Very unique. I dig this.

DCopperfields (146) - New York, USA - FEB 3, 2004
This one pours a clear yellow, or should I say a golden color. The head is white and rocky, and the lace adheres to my glass to stay. Nose is of freshly roasted malt, and hops to back it up. For a bottled beer, this smells remarkably fresh. Taste is what it says on the bottle "Classic Bohemian Style Golden Lager". Very drinkable, nice for a hot sunny day, but as far as bohemian pilsners go, this is right in there with Czechvar and Pilsner Urquel. Good, but nothing new., Brisk roasted malt followed by a crisp hop balancing act. Another good pilsner.

I like this Pilsner. Real malty nice hoppy flavor, too. Delicious. Good American Pilsner.

kujo9 (1095) - North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA - JAN 24, 2003
Dark straw color, quickly dissipating head, sporadic lace and hazy for a Bo. Pils. Malty and floral hop aroma w/ the slightest hint of diacetyl. Malty start w/ a hop flavor and bitter finish. This bottle is slightly oxidized, but not horribly so. Carbonation is a little high and prickly for Bo Pils and my taste, but the overall body is a medium feel. Very slightly astringent, but doesn't really take away from my overall impression of this beer.

Sammys (427) - Portland, Maine, USA - JAN 10, 2003
Pretty good as far as pilsners go. Aroma is all saaz, flavor is slightly sweet malt with saaz, finish is a pleasant saaz. In other words, everything a Pilsner should be.

Murphy (1759) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 3, 2002
I didn't mind this too much. Not stinky like most pilsners, and pretty easy to drink. Not bad at all. Goes well with Cheeze-Its, but will probably go well with real food too.
