Leighton (21255) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 18, 2012
Bottle during the Semi-Final Tasting at my place, London. Massive thanks to Erickok for providing this gem! Pours dark brown with red highlights and a sturdy, beige cream head. Dark malt nose with dirt and roast. Flavor is big and sweet with light, Belgian chocolate, mild yeast, roasty malts, dark chocolate, very light brett, some dirt and light burnt wood. Medium to full in body with average, creamy carbonation. Sweet on the finish with further chocolate malts, light roast, some earth, mild tang, mild wood and subtle dark fruits. Exceptional complexity and balance in this beer. Really impressively dynamic.

Bananig süßer Beginn mit leichter Alkoholigkeit, wenig röstig, ausgewogen. Rund, wenig karamell – gut! 7/11/10/10/5/10

Benzai (15608) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - MAR 20, 2012
Draught @ In de Wildeman, Amsterdam. Pitch black, opaque colored beer with a small off-white head that leaves virtually no lacing and is fully diminishing. Smell malts, sweetness, ash, dust and earth. Taste lightly sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sour with a slight bitterness. Soft, almost flat carbonation and a low body.

Scopey (14730) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 1, 2012
Bottle at Leighton’s Euro Semi-Final tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours very dark brown, with a thick beige head. The nose is roasted malt, coffee, caramel, chocolate and some funk. The taste is wood, leather, some funk, lemon, chocolate, brett, chocolate, caramel, alcohol warmth, wood, dark tangy fruit and spice, with a dry, warming finish. Medium-full body and fine carbonation. Interesting and complex. Good Stuff.

Bottle. [thanks noize/skortila/caesar]
Pours deep chestnut with a small, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has dark chocolate, rye bread, blackberries, roasted. Medium carbonation, grainy and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good toasted caramel, sweet light milky chocolate, roasted nuts. Lingering, light fruity tart finish. Nice.

Tap @ Bierproeflokaal In De Wildeman. Deep brown appearance with a dark brown head. Wild yeasty, dark berry, tangy, sappy, earthy aroma. Earthy, chewy herbal, plum, dark berry flavor. Really reminds me of Odell Hiveranno with the strange wild, herbal, berry notes.

marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - JUL 11, 2012
On tap at In de Wildeman. Pours dark brown with a thick foamy beige head and a sour aroma. There is a sourish dark malt flavor with a fruity finish.

Bottle @ the Semi-Final Tasting. Cheers, Leighton and Eric! The pour’s deep brown with big tan head. The nose is spicy chocolate and coffee ice cream, some pepper and dried hoppiness. The taste is light vegetable, pepper, and leather. Some bouncy spicy caramel accents. A bit buggy. Medium body, soft carbonation. Overall, pretty interesting!

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, dense creamy beige head. Aroma of liquorice, dark fruits, chocolate, raisins, light peat, a bit mouldy. Flavour is sweet, liquorice, hint of coffee, earth, hint of peat, dark fruits, very malty, bittersweet finish. Fullbodied, thick oily mouthfeel. Good.

erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - MAR 18, 2012
UPDATED: JAN 30, 2014 Dark brown body with a tan, frothy firm head. Light roasted toast, dry fruit, bready. Full flavoured, fruit concentrate, chocolate covered raisins. Mild brett, but used just right. Amazing brew, top class. One of my favourites this event. (At De Nederlandse Brettanomyces Dagen)
