Bottle. Black beer with a strong head. The aroma is milky coffee, and the flavour is sweet, coffee and lightly bitter. Overall a nice gentle coffee beer. thewolf (12932) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 8, 2009

Pours deep brown with a giant, frothy, beige head. Fizzes away rather slowly. Mild toasted toffee aroma, light milky chocolate and a touch of roasted malts. A bit weak mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Flavour is lovely, though. Mild, elegant roastiness, milky chocolate. Toffee and a touch of coffee. Very long, lingering aftertaste.
Deep brown color, good creamy beige head. Toasted coffeish, licorice aroma, a bit similar to Slottskällans IS. Later also some earth and metal. Flavor is suprsingly quite weak and mouthfeel is thin and watery for a beer of this strength. Light coffee, toasted malts, chocolate, but these flavors are painfully toned down. Soft it is anyway. Pours a lightish brown for a stout- nice foamy head. Aroma is a nice roasty barely- light coffee, with licorice hints. Smooth chocolate and nutty toasted malts, roasted barley light espresso, star anise and leather with a clean bitter finish. As it warms you get some slight burnt rubber burnt toast and charred wood. 2007 bottle. Poured medium-deep reddish-brown with a thicker cap of tan head and some serious crud suspended in there. The aroma picked up sour chocolatey malts paired with soy and spicy licorice notes.. some sweeter chocolates surrounded.. seemed just a little off. The flavor opened with soured black malts and light spicy bitterness.. moderately-roasted, semi-sweet chocolate and a pinch of soy at the core.. dry, well-placed woody and herbal bitter accents at the edges.. finished sweeter and roasty, losing the sourness. Medium-bodied with higher carbonation on the palate and a good level of roast.. the sourness threw me off a touch and seemed to be a mild infection.. definitely some good stuff in here, and I’d like to revisit sometime.

Bottle: Poured a black with a brown colored head. Aroma is light with grassy tones, some roasted malt. Taste is kinda weak with roasted malt and chocolate, finish with that clumpy hop grass. fonefan (52351) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JAN 8, 2009

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, cold coffee, notes of caramel and nutty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Bottled. A hazy dark red-brown beer with a thick lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet spicy combined with notes of roasted malt and coffee. The flavor is sweet with notes of spices and roasted malt as well as lighter notes of chocolate, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks fonefan and Brugmansia for sharing.
