Pours a very dark brown. Head appears to be decent at first but dissipates quickly. Leaving no lacing behind. Caramel, coffee, toffee, roasted barely aromas. Watered down flavors of the same. Some toffee is more pronounced than the rest though. A sweet roasted flavor. Molasses. A little thin, but good nonetheless.

(Bottle, Monks Caf Wallingatan, Stockholm) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, dark fruit, raisins, wort and spices. Malty taste with notes of caramel, dark fruit, raisins, prunes, cola, brown sugar and a spicy bitterness in the finish. Slightly more than medium body, starts quite sweet but dries out towards the end. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

(Bottle, 0.33 l) A gushing bottle which may be due to the fact that the I tried to cool the bottle on the window sill of my hotel room and it wasnt a really cold spot. The beer poured dark brown and almost clear. Its head was medium sized and white with brown shading. Aroma was sweet and malty. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, mildly raisin, a little bit of fruitiness, hint of aniseed and low bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet. A too sweet and quite boring dubbel.

330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
6 sticky biscuity chocolate fudge brownie aroma.
4 Dark brown, brief head.
6 Rich and full biscuity and cakey taste.
4 Fullsome sweet palate, maybe a little stodgy, pleasant carbonation. Finish is again full and cakey, but again stodgy. There were also some hints of a bitter bite when it was cooler, but Im not getting them now.
13 I prefer their more hefty beers, but this is a competent dubbel.
