COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop Ruiter (Hop Rider) has a full, almost rustic malt body, and pairs Belgian yeast-driven flavors with American assertive hoppiness. It is dry hopped, with two noble varieties which add complexity, delicacy and a bit of funk.

330ml bottle from Arden Wines. Dusted, streaming gold propping up a dense, rocky foam. Soapy, perfumed aroma with coriander, jasmine, lemon wine gum, mosquito repellent and honey notes. Clean, perfumed and herbal with lemon jelly and parsley-like citrus finishing with a satisfying bitterness and lingering bread and biscuit. The coriander is pronounced but still enigmatically Belgian. Turbo-charged Hoegaarden, basically. Like it.

Tap. Pale yellow with a white head. Nose is fresh hops, florals, light yeast, and dried fruits. Very smooth on the palate, nice hop note, dried fruits, sweet, and a smooth finish.

Bottle @ Willems Grobbendonk, Belgium. Pours cloudy yellow with a large egg white head and lacings. The aroma is awesome. Fresh citrussy hops, grass and mild yeast. Very inviting. Flavor is dry, hoppy and crisp. Lemon and red grape. Smooth. Simple yet very elegant, Nice Belgium IPA.

Bottle at Gollem bier/eetcafe. Bartender recommended this when I was looking for something hoppy. And what a good recommendation! Very nice hoppy aroma. Quite bubbly on the palate. Good (in my opinion) American hoppy flavor; fruity and versatile. Once the effervescence settles, it’s actually quite smooth. Some sweetness in the aftertaste (malt? don’t know), along with the bitterness. The style is Belgian Ale, according to RB, but it sure feels like an IPA! Very nice, and comes in at a close second on my list of hoppy Belgians, after the Viven Imperial IPA . Also tried this on tap later at ’t Waagstuk, and it was just as good.

750 thanks to Mike. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a larg white. A sweey yeasty hop nose. Sweet noble hops, light fruity, yeasty dry. Good.

Ottima davvero, è stata per me una delle piacevoli sorprese del villaggio, nasconde anche molto bene l’ABV, da bere e ribere...

(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 20 July 2012) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of tropical fruit, dried pineapple and floral hops. Malty, fruity taste with tropical fruit, dried pineapple and a gentle grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium to full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

8.0% hazy gold colour with a thin head, sweet almond aroma, slightly sweet but dry yeasty and fruity taste.

thirstyrabbit (1862) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 24, 2012
750 ml bottle, 8% ABV. Slightly cloudy pale golden body with a medium head. Aroma has sweet yeast with some honey. Very balanced, very Belgian. Good palate with fine carbonation. Taste has sweet malts with notable hoppiness, which is never overbearing but just right. A bit Tripel-like but mellower and therefore more drinkable. Mellow fruity and yeasty finish with the right bitterness. Did I mention it was mellow and super drinkable?

Orange/gold pour with a white head. Simple aroma of fruity esthers, yeast and light hops. Flavor is much the same, some caramel malt, a bit of tropical fruit. Not bad.
