Brewed from pale and caramel malts and heavily hopped with Hersbracker and Saaz hops, this is a beer for the connoisseur, who does not shy away from a robust hoppiness. Its full, smooth flavor makes it an ideal session beer.

330ml from Arden Wines. Bright gold slicked with white. Big juicy wine gum nose with suggestions of orange, pear, pineapple and green herb. Bright and perfumed with orange rind and sappy hop giving way to pale biscuity malt and peppery booze. A little harsh and soapy on the finish at first but mellows with each sip. Decent.

Bouteille 33.

Very all-round good beer. It’s fruity, creamy, has enough bitterness without going overboard. Spicy notes, ginger.

Combination of fruit (peach / tropical), some floral aromas, mild bitterness. Full bodied, well balanced beer. Enjoyed this one most the Scheldebrouwerij beers.

The looks of the beer are nice. The color of the brew is a nice golden yellow. The beer has a nice cloudiness. On top of the beer a nice layer of soft white foam is formed. The majority of the foam collapses quickly, leaving a nice thin drape. Just the looks like any other Belgian ale. The smell of the beer is nice. It is like most Belgian Ale’s. There is a nice malty base, providing a good sweetness. I also smell a biscuits touch. Nice. There also is a lovely bitter and fruity hop aroma. The hops have a nice citrusy and herbal aroma. The beer is more hoppy than the most Belgian Ale’s. The taste of the beer is also nice. I taste lovely strong malts, giving a nice sweetness and a nice biscuit touch. There is also a nice bitterness of the hops. There is also some yeastiness in the beer. The strong yeast really give the beer a Belgian character. Nice beer, but not extremely special. Just a good Belgian beer, like there are more. The palate of the beer is fine. Medium body, medium high carbonation and a nice bitter finish with some alcohol warmt. All in all, a nice Belgian Ale, but not extremely special.

33cl bottle at De Biertuin, Amsterdam on 20-Jan-2017. Clear golden pale colour with a medium sized white head. Aroma is slightly herbal, with citrus, grain and Belgian yeast. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of sweet biscuit malt, grain, lemon peel and slightly floral. Light sweetness and refreshing.

Long time since I drank this. Bottle pours dark-golden to orange, with white head, that quickly diminishes. Malty aroma with sweetness of light fruits and caramel. Taste medium sweet (also these light fruits & caramel) en light bitterness. Low carbo. An OK blond, but nothing special to me.

.33l bottle, has a new lable.. but hey. Hazy orange beer, citrus flavour. Slight bitter afterdrink. Thin head, nothing special for me.
