Had this at Wildemans in Amsterdam on 5-24-03. Pours a hazy brown with a thin tan head. The nose is full of malt, sugar, and cinnamon. The taste is better with cocoa, spice, malt sweetness and the high alcohol making its presence known. Finishes very well with a smooth and sweet mouthfeel. Fine light brown head, initially with large bubbles. Dark red brown body. Sweet aroma with fruit, chocolate, vanilla. Taste is balanced and complex; sweet, chocolate, caramel, not much bitterness, a little spice. Medium to full, soft. Easy to drink - yummy. caesar (7156) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - FEB 24, 2003
UPDATED: JUL 14, 2003 RerateThis is very very good! Looks are the same as last time. Aroma is strong of sweet caramel, chocolatmilk maybe, bit spicy and malty. Taste is sweet and malty, complex but balanced. Long lingering palate. HMM, delicious!
Original ratingCloudy caramel-brown color, small but longlasting head. Aroma is malty, but not roasted, a bit spicy more, though not very strong. Very nice spicy malty taste, but a bit thin maybe. A beer to age i guess, and the one i had was very 'young'. Overall taste is very good and complex, but it lacks some body. maupie (1098) - Roosendaal, NETHERLANDS - JAN 7, 2003
It is a sweet weak stong beer with a dark color. eczematic (1325) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - OCT 31, 2002
This is bloody fantastic. Intense, dense and powerful. Toffee, coriander, caramel, and blackcurrant flavours, with a rasping yeast taste cutting through at the finish. Surprisingly subtle for a 10% beer. Rerate (2002): not quite as mindblowing as the 1st couple of times I had it, but still quality stuff.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2007 Thick, long lasting frothy head. Cherry, raisinny aroma. Porto and licorice. Bit sour with cherry and orange. A bit too sweet, but a well-made beer.
Re-rate 75 cl bottle. Gusher. Dark brown color, frothy head. Malt, raisin and cinnamon in the aroma. Sweet malty flavor with chocolate cake, raisin and brown sugar. Nice enough, a bit too sweet and onedimensional maybe. skortila (5873) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - SEP 22, 2002
UPDATED: JUL 11, 2006 Great look, dark beer with a lasting head. Great strong, sweet smell. Taste is massive, sweet, chocolate, burned malts and a little iron-like in the finish. Very very good beer. jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - OCT 26, 2001
Sweet and lots of spices but not too overwhelming. motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 3, 2001
