A clear dark red/brown colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of dark fruits, cherries, caramel malts. The taste of fruits like cherries and raisins, caramel malts. It has some bitter with sweets. The aftertaste is bittersweet in a nice way. BoBoChamp (5754) - Gent, BELGIUM - JAN 11, 2009

In short: An extra sweet heavy Belgian dark ale. Ok at first but a full bottle is too much.travita (5008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 9, 2008
How: Bottle 330ml, drank when 1 year old or so but still before best-before date
The look: Very cloudy brown (shit-brown) body topped by a very small tan head
In long: A whole lot of sweet malts. Dates, raisins, dark grapes and brownies covered by a mountain of toffee. Some wood. Syrupy sweet with a strong brown sugar sensation, so sweet that it makes the beer a sipper. Leafy hops with earthy and tobacco notes in the finish lightens it up a bit. Very candy-ish beer. I usually don’t like those sweet Belgian dark ales but this one was ok at first although it did get sickening by the end of a single bottle. Overall not really offensive, could work as dessert beer. Not something I want to have again, anyway if I ever try to order this beer to a Flemish waitress I would probably end-up with Seafood and Linguini or even worse, a slap on the face.
Smell is maple, sugary, malts, raisans, very sweet. Look is red and clear with a beige colored head. Taste is sort of sweet, maple, caramel, toasty, and sugary. ekstedt (7013) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 21, 2008
