33 cL bottle, 9%. Pours hazy brown with a collapsing tan head. Light acidic to citric nose with a light malty note beneath. Flavour is caramel malty with a nice chocolate smoothness and a light yeast note. Nice lingering and flavourful finish, hides the 9% well though. A hazy deep red beer with a nice light brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of berries and spices as well as hints of alcohol. The flavor is pretty sweet with notes of caramel and berries, leading to a dry woody end. joergen (29238) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 10, 2005
Red colour with a small fast disappearing head.
Sweet aroma with notes of berries and acidic notes.
Sweet flavour with notes of berries, dried fruit and acidic notes.
Slightly bitter finish.
Not bad, but not the best barley wine I’ve had. anders37 (27075) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JAN 15, 2006

Bottled. Deep reddish brown colour with mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some slight alcohol, mild spices as well as some mild chocolaty notes. Flavour is being quite much the same, but the alcohol shows a bit better. Yet the alcohol fits in quite well omhper (25753) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 26, 2005
Bottled at RBESG. Nut brown, nera no head. Sweet, somewhat syprupy and raisiny. Near full bodied with loads of caramelly malt and butterscotch. Light salty finish. Rich and intriguing. madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 10, 2010
1st October 2008. Cloudy dark brown beer. Chocolatey malt with a slightly sour undertone - almost like an aged scotch ale. There is a subtle creamy sweetness in the mid followed by a sharp effervescent sting in the finish. All hangs together well. Tasty and complex. Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 23, 2005
(Bottle 33 cl) Suppose chestnut coloured is the closest you come to describing this. Chestnut with an orange glow and a small, beige head. Hazy with a bottle sediment. Vinous aroma with notes of almonds and raisins. Very complex taste with notes of dried fruits - raisins in particular. It also has touches of delicate desert wine and marzipan. Incredibly lovely - this really is my kinda beer. 230805 chriso (21656) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 18, 2010
Bottle, RBESG, August 2005. Reddish, dark brown colour. rather too prickly and fizzy on the tongue. Lots of toffee, treacle and chocolate. Some fruity notes on the palate (prunes). I was going to say it didn’t seem like a barley wine but, despite the commercial description, we don’t have it listed as one anyway. Nothing special.
