Braun bis schwarz, wahrscheinlich trb. Geruch fruchtig, nach Johannisbeeren und Waldfrchten. Ein wenig alkoholisch, welches auch im Geschmack so ist. Starke Rezenz. Der Alkohol sticht nicht besonders hervor. Leicht bitter.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A dark brown opaque beer with a small white head ; small retention. Skunky nose (...), happily mouth is definitely better : roast, light coffee, prune, fig, light vinous (in the end, with the yeast sediment). Medium sweet, round, light dry bitter warming with fresh episodes. Medium body, thin texture, average to soft carbonation, sweet roasty vinous finish. Overall, good, despite of this unpleasant welcome (look and nose).

33cl bottle at home. Appearance: dark with medium light beige head. Aroma: roasted malts, burnt sugar. Taste: fairly high sweetness with high bitterness. Notes of roasted malts, cacao, caramel, burnt sugar and bread. Palate: medium bodied, oily texture and medium carbonation. The taste has some similarities with abbey doubles and it has quite a light body compared to other Imperial Stouts.

(Scheldebrouwerij Oesterstout) At MOUT bierfestival NIjmegen, I remember having it before, surprised it wasnt rated. 150ml glass. Black coloured body with a tall and thick beige head on top, good retention. Aroma of toasted malts, olive pit, heavy caramel. Taste also of caramel somehow, roasted malts, sugars. Medium thin body with soft carbonation. Decent but nothing special.

MelvinKalksma (1460) - NETHERLANDS - JUN 12, 2016

Aroma:
Slight/medium aroma of malts, caramel, yeast, dried fruits, liquorice and chocolate.

Appearance:
Turbid/opaque ruby/brown beer with heavy yeast and with a slight/medium beige/brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Medium sweet with malts, caramel, yeast, dried fruit, liquorice and chocolate.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense, but lacks complexity and balance. It is really odd to be fair. This beer is watery, sweet and just plain weird.
