johndoughty (5178) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2008
Dark and poured with a small head. Slight bitterness but no really dominant flavours. No real alcohol presence despite its strength making it dangerous beer to drink. Very pleasant.

Bottle. Low but lasting off-white head. Pitch black body. Coffee aroma with distinct and dominating alcohol. Mild coffee flavor with berries and a hint of the alcohol plus some acidity. A good deal of carbonation to tickle your tongue. Long and mild coffee aftertaste.

davidpl (435) - Santiago, CHILE - APR 19, 2008
Appearance: black color. Medium and beige head, lasting and beautiful. Aroma: intensives in chocolate and toast malts aromas, but mainly the sea smells (from the oyster shell filter). Aromatic reminiscences of soy, sodium and iodine; strange but nice. Also, other notes like coffee, vanilla liquor,, truffles, yeast, cookies, and butter. Fruitiness similar to raisins in rum, dried-plums and fig. Complex and original. Flavor: Toasty malty start, lasting and some dry. Like in the aroma, exist a sea-taste with salt, sodium, iodine and (maybe) soy reminiscences. Other reminiscences typical from a stout, like coffee and bitter-chocolate. Liquory taste. Light fruitiness like raisins and figs.. The aftertaste is toasty and with the sea-taste. Palate: medium to full body; silky and some creamy texture; and low carbonation. Remark: a nice, complex and original beer and with own-character. With some Chilean oysters could be a marvel.

Boutip (6130) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 31, 2008
Bottle: Poured a clear deep burgundy color ale with a giant size light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some sweet malt notes and a bread-like yeast is quite interesting. Taste is a complex mix between some liquorice, roasted malt and Belgian semi-sweet malt with notes of dry hops also noticeable and the influence of a Belgian style yeast strain cannot be denied. Very interesting and something I wouldnt mind having regular access to.

rederic (3307) - montral, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 25, 2008
Cloudy black hue, with a small tan-colored head, yeasty, fruity, mochaish nose, with some sweet notes of molasses, dark candi sugar, with some roasted, toasted malt accents, with a nice chocolatey praline note, hint of cocoa powder, some nice raisiny and plummy aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, sweet chocolate cake character, with some dark dried fruits, coated in milkchocolate, with some molasses, dark candy sugar sweetness, some mild roasted, toasted malt accents within a mellow warmth mouthfeel, leading towards a malty, milky, fudgey finish.
