33 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown with a reddish hue and a dense off-white head. Aroma is what I now seem to sense as Scheldebrouwers yeasty with a touch of dried fruit and slight chalky. Very subdued light roasted. Flavour is mild and smooth chocolate malty with a touch of dried fruit. Nice lingering finish, somewhat simple but nice. An opaque brown beer with a beutiful beige head. The aroma is sweet with hints of sourness, prunes, and chocolate. The flavor is very complex on a background of sweet malt it combines prunes, raisins, chocolate, licorice to end on a nice bitterness from a good hop. joergen (29216) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 17, 2005

Herman asked me 3 questions, and based on my answers he chose this beer for me at the Waterhuis in Gent - perfect choice! Black, thick tan head. Aroma of cocoa, vanilla beans, scotch, licorice. Chocolate taste, light spice, dry and bitter finish. Very nice. cgarvieuk (25984) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 7, 2012
bottle at home ... deep brown ... thin tan head ... dark blackcurrant ... roast malt nose ... dark malts ... little yeast ... little of the salty oyster ... more like the Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van De Keizer than a stout .. but nice ... little too fizzy though omhper (25723) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - SEP 19, 2006
[Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm] Completely black, near no head. Aroma of tobacco and fruit. Medium dry with near full body and clean mouthfeel. There are notes of chocolate, but with it’s hard mouthfeel the flavours does not really take off. Short finish. madmitch76 (25537) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 8, 2011

Warning! Early amateur rating! An eye watering £8 pint in Lowlander, Aldgate. Very fruity and non bitter stout. Even palate (not too thick or thin). Very very drinkable.
