I had the bartender check the keg, it was labeled Scheldebrouwerij Tripel Speciaal with an ABV of 8.7. Aroma of sweetish fruits, spicy yeast, floral notes, some malt, hoppy notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Pretty good Tripel, well-balanced and comes with a nice bitter finish. MarcoDL (4791) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 27, 2014
Not sure why they brewed this. They already have their Zeezuiper, which is a good tripel, with a special touch, this is just average. HenrikSoegaard (14100) - Randers, DENMARK - JUL 27, 2013
Not sure about this beer. Draught at "Det Bette Ølhus" as "Vera Tripel" and owner told me it was made for this shop only. ABV 9.0. Could be a new entry or an alias.
Draught. Creamy White good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate malty and hoppy and yeasty aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. Excellent tripel. Borresteijn (6959) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 17, 2011
On tap at In de Wildeman. I’ll rate it here, but is was listed as Triple Speciale, ABV 8.3%. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of sweet fruits, citrus, yeast, cookies. Flavour is malty, yeasty, light spicy, fruity, citrus, sweet, sweet citrus finish. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. A bit too sweet imo, but nice enough. chriso (7533) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2011
On tap at Locus Publicus, Delft on 2 April 2011. Hazy gold colour. Very hoppy. Distinct aromatic US hop character. Didn’t some across much like a Tripel to be honest. In fact, as I’ve been unable to find any existing Scheldebrouwerij entry that matches this, I wonder whether this was a case of mis-labelling - the name was only chalked up on a board anyway. Whatever this was, I found it extremely tasty and would certainly drink it again given the opportunity.
