Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Light to moderate sweet balanced aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of average duration. Goes well with spicy food.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2013 Tap. Light gold pour with a moderate white head. Aroma is scotch ale and vinegar. Nice medium body in a lighter beer. Taste is hop, malt, and an aspirin-like finish. Decent. phaleslu (10247) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 1, 2010
12 oz. bottle as an extra in a trade with fidelis83- thanks again, Jeremiah! Pours a mostly clear amber with a big off-white head that leaves some light and sloppy lacing in the glass. Aroma of toast, grass, citrus, tea, banana, cardboard, and musk. Flavor of wet leaves, cardboard, grass, tea, citrus, floral hops, caramel malts, and rainwater. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a wet, leafy mouthfeel. Not bad, but this one just isn’t doing it for me. Though I have to admit I dig the grandpa beer-style label. arminjewell (9646) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - FEB 24, 2012
Pour on tap at Winterfest 2012, hazy orange with white head, aroma has notes of nice pine and citrusy hops, touch of biscuit as well, but otherwise a bit indescript. Taste is a nice mix of biscuit, toffee, some nice citrus notes, finishing fairly dry and bitter. Pretty nice. FROTHINGSLOSH (7796) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 30, 2010
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet with moderate notes of lemon, grapefruit, pine and a touch of spruce. The flavor was bitter with notes of caramel, grapefruit and pine with undertones that were nutty and bready. Long tangy and fruity finish. Medium body. Solid. Bottled. Poured clear, medium orange with a short, sticky off-white head.. nice lacing followed it down. The aroma picked up sweet caramel and redder fruity notes with fresh pine resin and grassy accents.. really, really clean. The flavor found sweet, lightly-toasted caramel at the core, with fresh, prickly pine and leafy bitterness throughout.. refreshing, lingering bitterness and simple, but tasty malts on the finish. Lighter-bodied with moderate-plus carbonation on the palate.. good flow to it.
