UPDATED: SEP 11, 2005 Aroma of a standard lager. Appearance is a red-brown. Flavor is exceptionally smooth with lots of sweet malt. Surprisingly good.

A little too chocolatey for my taste, and I think I detected a hint of alcohol. Low complexity, like they were trying to cover for its lackluster flavor. Not a great beer.

Grainy smell. Redish look with little head and no lacing. Light taste with a light acidic finish.

heemer77 (5361) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - FEB 4, 2004
UPDATED: APR 6, 2006 Out of the bottle. Almost no head. Dark red amber. Aroma of caramel and lemons. The taste is slight caramel with some light citrus. It has the metallic aftertaste that others have mentioned. A decent light beer, but nothing special.Trying this again in 2006 and have the same rating. Now it comes in a clear bottle.

Amber to clear color, watery, not much flavor. Reminds me a Miller High Life with some food coloring added. Not an impressive dark.

Cartoonkhaki (1338) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 4, 2004
Dark amber thin white head. Malty aroma. Light body light malt nothing special.

Hmm...I guess I can't say it's bad but it is very disappointing nonetheless. A boring lager that tastes remarkably bland. I think the color is for show only.

Not much aroma, just the standard American lager smell, like the floor at a concert. No head, very thin, lively carbonation. Tastes pretty much like their original. Color is there to impress visually, I guess. Not a bad cheap beer, but nothing special to seek out.

2.2
JPDIPSO (6296) - Wauwatosa, USA - OCT 2, 2003
Brown with a hint of orange in color. Small bone colored head. Light dry caramel aroma. Sweet dark candi flavor with a herbal hops finish. Lacks balance. Somewhat salty and metallic.

GrainBeltGuzzler (249) - Goodhue, Minnesota, USA - SEP 4, 2003
UPDATED: NOV 22, 2004 not so super, kind of disappointed, little actual taste with a metalic thing going on afterwards, Re-rate head to head with berghoff Genuine dark. Malty alcohol aroma, no head to speak of, with a dark brown pour. malty grainy sort of flavor, not great, but everyone is entitled to a few mistakes now and then
