Straw color with very thin white head. Extremely faint aroma of malt. Taste is sweet malt with some corn and bread notes. Nothing much to get excited about here. ccex (1390) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 30, 2011
Since I grew up a few miles from New Ulm, MN, I’ve always enjoyed this one, given the macro alternatives. It is a good but unexceptional pale lager which I’ve enjoyed many times in the last 30 years. Pours a normal yellow with a small light head. Not much to smell. Aroma is mostly normal malt with an inoffensive taste of corn. No foul aftertaste. I still enjoy this one, which would be my everyday beer if I still lived in southern Minnesota. Don’t go out of your way to try this, but if it’s available it’s a good session beer BVery (11458) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - DEC 3, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Tap. Clear light gold pour with almost no head. Actually a pretty decent malted grain nose and taste. Really good for the style. DasBierChef (1081) - Hudson, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 17, 2011
This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity. esjaygee (3902) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 17, 2011
Clear straw yellow with a quickly fading white topper. Aroma is sweet, grassy and adjuncted with corn. Taste is pretty much the same – sweet malt, mild grassy hops, corn, mild apple and a strong metallic finish. Life is too short to waste more than a couple ounces on this.

Bottle. Poured clear amber with an average white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Light to moderate grainy sweetaroma. Light to medium body with a thin texture and soft carbonation. Light to medium sweet flavor with a light to sweet finish of short to moderate duration.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2012 Relatively samey pale lager, not different than the thousands out there that have not one thing unique about them, although this wasn’t nasty in any way. benfergy (248) - Valley City, North Dakota, USA - MAR 18, 2011
The aroma is of malt, somewhat similar to a pilsner, and very strong. I like it. The beer has very little head. The taste is well balanced on all levels. Among USA lagers, this is quite good; not sure how available it is, but if I can get some more, it’s strictly better than many other beers of its style. The label on my bottle looked different than what is shown here on RateBeer,
this beer has very clear pale yellow –straw- pour with lots of carbonation, made a white head that quickly deflated to a sparse cover and ring,
there is lots of carbonation in the glass,
the aromas consisted of light malt and corn, and a hint of bread,
and had flavors of light malt and corn, a touch of citrus, and a little cracker to, left the palate a bit dry,
mouth feel was thin and weightless,
something that would be good with Pizza or on a hot Summer day.

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Straw yellow typical lager look. Aroma of faint corn and grain. Flavor is inoffensive but bland - a little sweet grain, a hint of bitter in the finish (or maybe its may imagination....) Nothing bad but nothing good - meh, fuggetaboutit.
