COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schell’s Hefeweizen is made with 60% wheat malts and 40% barley malt. We use an authentic wheat beer yeast culture, which gives the beer a fruity ale character dominated by a citrus-like tartness. A slice of lemon is traditionally served with this type of wheat beer.
Ingredients: 60% Wheat and 40% Pale malts, domestic Cascade, and Mt. Hood hops.

Bottle into Pilsener glass. A very pale orangish-gold, heavily carbonated, a bit hazyA. 2 inch slightly off-white head from a moderate pour. Head hardly fades at all over the first few minutes, and then fades very slowly. Sweet aroma. Slight fruit scents, perhaps banana (but I’m not too good at sorting out 15 different fruit odors in a beer... ). Nice initial taste, banana again, not much bitterness at all initially. Not too thin, and the carbonation contributes to a good feel. A bit of hops bittering in the middle and into the aftertaste, but the predominate taste is from the malts and yeasts, it seems to me, fruity banana. Just a bit too sweet to be considered crisp. This is a refreshing beer, great for just coming in from doing yard work (like for me, now). I’m not familiar with how the style is "supposed" to taste, so I can’t comment on how faithful it is to the German style; but it is very good.

Bottled. Poured hazy medium golden with a short-lived white head. The aroma picked up wheat and lesser biscuity malts with banana accents.. came across a touch sweet. The flavor found similar, with a bit more banana.. A bit of bubblegum around.. finished with a lot of residual sugars. Lighter-bodied and grainy on the palate.. too sugary to really be refreshing.

Light yellow with a nice white head, lots of carbonation. Smell really dominated by banana, almost like banana baby food and I mean that in a good way, also get some wheat. Nice and clean up front with nice banana and wheat notes then get the spicy slight clove on the back.
