A shining example of the true European Pilsner style beer, Schell's Pilsner is brewed with 100 percent barley malt, where the imported German Hallertau hops flavor is showcased. Its full hop characteristic and delicate aroma were developed in Pilsn, Czechoslavakia around 1840. This style was widely copied by early American breweries. Over the years, however, it has been lost to the much lighter-bodied, low-hopped relatives we refer to as American "Premium" beer.
Schell's Pilsner has won many awards, including medals from the prestigious Great American Beer Festival.
Ingredients: 100% Pale malt, domestic Cascade, and imported Hallertau hops.

European Pilsner? Not even close. The flavor profile is strongly dominated by the late addition of very coarse hops. The aroma is similarly floral. Not sure why Shells is making a Pils that tastes like a West Coast IPA, but that is what this is. It would appear that they do not know how to produce a genuine Czech or German Pilsner, so they pawn this off on us instead.

Excellent Pilsner beer which is normally a style thats just OK to me but I could easily session a few of these. No skunk flavor just clean and super easy to drink. I actually liked their Firebock Vienna Lager better but this is good. If you like Pilsner you have to try this.

Keg @ Mimosa, MPLS. Light gold with a small head. Creamed corn and husky grain. Light epoxy hops. A hit of apple sauce. Nicely light and zippy. Lovely. A great cheap option.

Excellent pilsner. Beautiful golden color, smell and taste is clean and crisp with a little citrus hop flavor and smell as a pilsner should be. If your looking for lots of hops and bold flavor you should be buying a double IPA and not a pilsner. One of the best pilsners I've had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass Appearance: Pours a thick sudsy 3" white head that recedes very slowly with plenty of lacing. Color is pale straw with plenty of streaming carbonation. Aroma: bready malts, yeast, some grass and bitter hops. Mouthfeel: light bodied and frothy with a mostly dry finish. Flavor: pungent earthy and grassy hops balanced with sweet lightly toasted barley. Overall: well done pilsener, very much to style.
