Doesn’t really remind me of true altbier but likea malty amber. It isn’t bad but not on style. deyholla (11505) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 28, 2015

Bottle. Chocolate caramel malt and astringent hay aroma. Chestnut brown with moderate tan head. Mildly sweet chocolate caramel malt and mildly bitter astringent hay flavor. Body a bit light. Smooth - nicely drinkable. DocLock (10652) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 27, 2004
Thanks to Drnk_Mcdermott for this one. Pours burnt sienna with a medium off-white head. Aroma of malt, dark fruit, caramel, cabernet, hops, and slight puke (which makes sense, because puke and dark chocolate both contain butyric acid, and this one had a big dark chocolate taste...I thought it was a schwarzbier before I logged on). Tastes malty, with black licorice, caramel, nuts, some hops, and raw cocoa flavor. Medium palate, with a smooth finish. As it warmed, I got a cherry touch from it. Nice style. Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a thin off-white head. Mild nose of chocolate malt and maybe some dark fruit. Medium bodied, rich chocolate malt flavor, and a little carbonation poking through. Could drink a bunch of these.
