0,5l bottle from Sörspecialista, Budapest. Clear, dark brown coor with quickly dimishing light brown head. Malty, sweet, alcohol and liqueur aroma - as a usual doppelbock. Heavy sweet taste. Heavy body, creamy texture, average carbonation. The aftertaste has caramel flavour. It’s a heavy and sweet beer. This is a good example of abbey doppelbocks, no more, no less. Good one.

500ml bottle. Fantastic, clear, dark, ruby colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, a touch of rock sugar and dark caramel. Taste is sweet dark malty, notes of malt lozenge, hints of rock sugar, dark caramel, some warming alcohol.

Grumpelmies (431) - GERMANY - DEC 16, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2017 Bottle. Dark brown with ruby tinges and medium-sized white head. Aroma of malts and red fruits. Taste of malts, red berries, plums and a little hint of cocoa. Aftertaste shows some fruity acidity, cherries and low hoppy bitterness. Medium carbonation. Balanced and the alcohol is well hidden. It's not bad by any means but as much as I love Doppelbocks I unfortunately can't say that I enjoyed this one.

larsga (7679) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 3, 2017
Small beige head. Deep dark reddish brown body, no visible carbonation. Syrupy caramelly cocos aroma with fruity notes. Sweet fruity syrupy taste with treacle notes. Full-bodied. Sweet fruity grassy aftertaste with caramelly toasted sugar notes. Nice, drinkable, but too sweet and one-sided, and the malt profile isn't that great, either. (0.5l bottle, from wine monopoly, Strømmen.)

Zlotta (4148) - Hagen, GERMANY - OCT 16, 2017
0.5 l bottle from 'Biermuda', best before May 2018. Clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, light beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of molasses, raisins and some caramel. Very sweet, malty, slightly fruity and a bit roasty taste of caramel, molasses, raisins and a touch of milk chocolate, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little boozy finish. Medium to full body, almost oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Classic, a bit simple but well-balanced and saturating Doppelbock, quite nice!

Aus der Flasche getrunken ( Kauf bei GP Dessau). Ist dunkles Bŕaun. Für meine Verhältnisse ein Kick zu malzig.

2.8
Moravius (1516) - Berlin, GERMANY - AUG 1, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2017 Flasche („Kloster Scheyern Poculator Doppelbock dunkel“, 7,6 %).
