A dark brown, reddish beer pours with a huge foaming. The beer smells very malty caramelly, slightly sweet, very full-bodied! Starts strong malty, slightly sweet caramelly in the background. Towards the middle part, a pleasant bitter roasted malt aroma is added. Hints of smoke are spreading on the finish. The further course is yeasty-roasty, very strong and full-bodied malty, well balanced sweet and bitter, with a beautiful hint of smoke and roasted malts. Terrific beer! Lecker!

500 ml bottle at the first counterterrorism civil-military relations beer tasting in Garmisch, Germany. Dark amber color. Bare hint of hops, otherwise a plain malty brew. jaghana (6228) - Strasbourg (Alsace), FRANCE - JAN 31, 2011
Bottle 50cl. A clear brown beer with medium head. Nose is on caramel and chocolate notes. Aroma is sweet, properly malted, good toasted notes, brown bread, dark chocolate at the finish, nice bitterness, a good surprise, nice beer. Really underrated. darkseduction (759) - Zweibrücken, GERMANY - DEC 28, 2010
Swing top bottle 50cl. Pours a cloudy amber coloured brew with huge dense creamy head. Caramel malts in the nose, a fluffy hoppy note also. Oily texture, middle carbonisation, an absolute fantastic elaborated roasted malty note, almonds, hazelnuts, flowery hops. A truely great brew!

courtesy of Philipp Sigg and Thomas Schneider - clear amber-brown colour, little beige foam left; crisp malty aroma with notes of caramel and chestnuts; medium-bodied and pretty tasty, earthy; slightly tart and bitter; long malty and earthy finish, moderate carbonation - very good Quack-Duck (9490) - Down South, GERMANY - OCT 23, 2010
bottle from Fristo Radolfzell. Hazy brownish colour, large head. Malty, caramel, nuts with a shy yeasty background. A well-balanced Kellerbier, very nice indeed. Embrouille (2854) - SWITZERLAND - AUG 17, 2010
Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of Quack-Duck. it pours a hazy amber red beer with a fizzy bubbly light beige head. The head retention is mediocre. Inviting, rich, slightly smoky nose where hints of caramel, raisin, coffee, almonds, nougat, vanilla, walnut and lemon peel show up which are accompanied by strong notes of peanut butter and tobacco. Sweet, delicately smoky taste. Creamy palate and gentle carbonation. Medium bodied. Lovely malt profile. A lot of peanut butter in the flavor again. Late moderate bitterness. Hardly any lacework. Flawless balanced finish which is reminiscent of nougat, asparagus and peanut butter. A remarkably delicious beer. Big thanks Stefan! asheft (3108) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 30, 2010
Potent bready cardboard aroma with a faint liquorice accent. Amost clear red-brown under off-white wisps. Bread crust flavour with caraway and liquorice. Moderate to medium biterness appears up front and then yields to the spices and spicy finish. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation. Quinten (1062) - zaandam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 28, 2010
