Clear medium red brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, nutty, dusty, green hay. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, smoked notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Swing-top bottle. Sour toffee malt, apple aroma with a hint of ash and grassy hops. Dark brown color with large head. Strong cigarette ash and toffee malt flavor - could not get past the ashy flavor - made this beer undrinkable. bierkoning (13349) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JUN 30, 2009

I like it, reminds me of some good micro-brewed brown ales. Brown coloured and clear. Has an off-white head, mostly lasting. Aroma is toasted, caramel, yeasty. Flavor starts moderate sweet and finish lightly bitter, balanced. Syrup texture.

palate fine, overall a nice beer. kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - NOV 29, 2008
The bottle looks good, the assortment all in all a bit boring. The label says, the beer is amber-coloured, but it’s much dark. I never saw such a dark kellerbier. Starts malty-roasty, a bit smoky. The finish shows notes of plum - all in all a bit washy. Not so good! yespr (45412) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - AUG 24, 2008
