COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Dry Hopped American Pale Ale (APA) is charged with American hops to create a bold, aromatic ale. Assertive hop flavor joins the pine/citrus aroma characteristic of American hops to balance the full body provided by North American malts. After fermentation, the beer circulates through a bed of Cascade and Chinook hops, boosting the distinctive hop aroma of this satisfying ale.

bottle (dated 8/27/15) @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of malt and grass. Hazy medium amber with lots of specks of sediment - not a good sign from a Schlafly brew. White head that shrinks to a cover, slices of lace. Taste is full-bodied caramel malt that adds a burst of carbonation on the swallow, turning from there to enough hops to balance. The malt is always present. Not sure if this is the intended taste for this brew, but it works well enough.

A brawny American Pale with a big pine/citrus and resin hop nose, but a lightly sweet lightly nutty mild malt backbone. Finishes lightly sweet then swings back with a bitter whack before settling into a mild citrus-laced malt fade. A fine looker as well, pouring hazy amber with a frothy resilient white head that drags scattered lace across the quickly emptying glass. A truly fine APA that showcases the best qualities of the style.

Pretty average appearance. Light brown w/ decent amount of head, rounded up to 3/5. Very pleasant citrus, hops w/ some spice on the aroma. Taste is balanced... hops, citrus, earth... very good mouthfeel. This one’s a winner.

I’m having a slushie. Beer is super cold and near frozen, but not so much that its hard to pour. I will commence my review just after it thaws a bit.

Pour was a slightly cloudy, orange amber color. Nice thick rocky ivory colored head. It has sediment floating around in there. It has nice lacing. Pretty good rocky retention on the head.

Aroma is nice. It’s not overpowering one way or another. It is hop heavy. But it’s also citrusy, earthy, and also malty. It’s inviting.

Taste is surprising. From one sip to the next, I’m guessing if it will be bitter or sweet. Very interesting. It’s slightly hop heavy, but there’s a good counter with malts. There are decent notes of citrus, and mint. I’m also picking up some fruit, but I’m not sure if it’s from the taste or the aroma. It’s very light.

Mouthfeel is great. It’s not real heavy. It’s not overly bitter. It’s a little watery. It’s a little thin. At best it’s a medium body.

Overall, this is a terrific APA. Well rounded. It has all the qualities of an IPA, but not quite as bitter.

I recently had the Schlafly American IPA, and I thought this would be the same. Well, it’s not. They are very similar in taste, but I like this a little better. This is a lot more balanced.

Bottle from Cork 57. Nice golden orangeish body with slight head. Nose is hoppy and citrus. Taste also quite hoppy with citrus and pine flavours. Hoppy finish.

Mild aroma of hops with pine and some citrus prominent. Nice orange color with a frothy tan head. Rich sweet malt up front, with some caramel. Faint bitterness fades in, very mild. Some citrus notes pop in on the finish. Very clean finish with not much bite. Slightly slick mouth feel. Sessionable but not that complex. Good offering.

Pretty boosty apa. Initial hop bite that lingers and comes on stronger towards end. Solid and interesting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle pours ac;ear pramge color wirh one-finger head that vanishes quickly but leaves good lacing. Aroma is full of floral hops and bready malts. Taste is slightly bitter, with a big malty backbone and a big bitter finish. Body is medium with average carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel Very easily drinkable, and one I’ll try again. Not outrageeously good, but solid.
