COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlafly Belgian-Style Golden Ale opens with a fruity nose and rounded sweetness that compose a pale and balanced beer. Hallertau hops lend a hint of spice that balances the aroma and flavor of orchard fruit. Similar to our Belgian Tripel, but with a lighter body and a crisper finish, it is the perfect introduction to the family of Belgian beers renowned for their complexity and delicacy.

Draft... RBSG 2014... Pours lightly hazed and yellow with a slight, fizzy, white head. The nose is super restrained and really tough to pull anything from - maybe grain, fuzzy fruit, a spicy farmhouse phenol and pear? Medium to full-bodied with tickling carbonation. The flavor is grainy, lightly bitter and mildly acrid. Finishes crisp with a dash of buttery toffee. I don’t like golden ales, and neither should anyone else.

Really seemed to be more of just a basic blond ale. Odd choice for a special release, as it wasn't that special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour at the RBsG 2014 Schlafly Brunch (Maplewood, MO). Pours a pale yellow golden hue, gentle haziness and glow shows some frothy whitish head atop. A bit brighter, films smalll but laces welll enough. Aromas are clean, gentle malty sweetness is bread, some straw and mellow green earthy hops. Some gentle faint fruit is touches of meyer lemon, a touch sweet. Initial is lighter end of the fold, soft grainy pillow meets a bit of citrus, mellow dough and earthy hops. Middle is a touch grainy, gentle bread, faint citrus. Backend and finish is dry, a touch grainy with faint sweetness. Touches of earth, gentle apple and mellow bitterness tapers out. Clean, summery with some enjoyable fruit.
