Bottle: Pours a clear copper with a small off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is citrusy with hints of spices. Rich flavor is sweet with a citrusy hops in the creamy mouthfeel and finishes with some spiciness in the mild dry finish. Very flavorable and enjoyable. copper pour with a medium off white head.
Aroma is strong clove and orange peel. light malt sweetness, hint of herbal hop.
Flavour is light roasted maltiness, some toasty caramel, candied orange, spice.
For what it is...I really enjoy this beer. BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - DEC 12, 2009
Bottle and served in my Corsendonk XMAS Ale glass: Nice coppery hue with a fading frothy head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of sweet malt, light clove and orange zest, walnuts, herbal hops, and some banana yeast esters. The taste is moderately caramel sweet and a bit fruity with a mild spicy finish and very slight alcohol note. There is a bit of a chalky character about this as well. The mouth feel works well within the structure of the flavor profile, lively enough but not hard carbonation with a dryish finish and light warming. Overall, it is better than expected and a beer I will enjoy throughout the Holidaze. MoDog (927) - Griffith, Indiana, USA - DEC 9, 2009
12oz bottle (Bottled with love on 11 12 2009) served in an English pint glass. Clear copper pour with a thin head of tan foam that quickly faded away into a flimsy film. Minimal, slippery lacing. The aroma had a strong spicy nose of cinnamon, nutmeg, rich caramel, toffee, and some faint citrus. The flavor was full of thick toffee and caramel wrapped in orange zest and spices. Not overly spiced, but there was a distinct note of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. Also some spicy noble hops that tingle the tongue at the finish. Full-bodied, oily mouthfeel with a decent amount of carbonation. Pretty well made, especially if you like a spiced winter warmer. phaleslu (10553) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 7, 2009
12 oz. bottle from The Side Bar. Pours a cloudy orange/gold/red color, a muddy looking beer with a medium off-white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of gingerbread, nutmeg, clove, biscuity malts, orange peel, pine hops. Flavor of orange peel, clove, malts, caramel, pine hops, brown sugar, winter spices. Medium bodied, and unfortunately served too cold (save the frosted glasses for Bud Light, bartender), this one is better when served relatively warm. The spices, hops, and citrus are all more apparent in the flavor than on the nose. Not bad.

This is a very delicious holiday ale. Drink this at Room temp, for if you do not, then you will get a cough syrup taste to it. At room temperature, the beer has an extreme bakeshop smell, as though you were buying Christmas Cookies. The taste is spicy, and I detected cloves and citrus. kseecs16 (1216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - NOV 29, 2009
Draught at the St. Louis pub. Appears dark amber with a whispy soapy head. Aroma is rich and spicy. Flavor is rich, clovey, not overly spicy but with a potent malt flavor. nimbleprop (8723) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - NOV 19, 2009
12oz 2008 Vintage scored via extra in a trade. Pours a translucent, muddy, copper amber with a creamy, lacing, slightly off white head. Smells like a christmas cookie, ginger, cake icing, sweet, cookie dough, grains, spices, nutmeg. Flavor starts like a beer (grains, caramel, toast, crackers) and ends like a christmas cookie (nutmeg, caramel, cake icing, ginger). Smooth mouthfeel, a little lingering sweetness. For a Christmas beer I really liked it. GJF (1520) - Mount Vernon, Iowa, USA - NOV 16, 2009
On tap at the brewery, the day after its 2009 release. I really loved this. Thick, fruity, with a spicy finish with just a touch of alcohol warming. thedm (6310) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 20, 2009
This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent uncarbonated golden . The mild aroma was malty mild spice and metallic. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops and spices. A decent one that I would consider buying again.
