Draft - deep amber colored body with a creamy beige head. Malty aroma with a touch of spice, but not overly so like many Christmas beers. The flavor matches the aroma. Nice and full-bodied. A good beer! luckygirl (1223) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 3, 2007
Nov 06. Beer is clear, brown, medium hued. The head is initially small, white, frothy. Diminshes into a fluffy ring quickly.

The aroma is mellow and spicy. Malty with light notes of toasted grain, cookie; Hoppy with a trace of resin; Yeasty with a light note of sweet dough; Moderate miscellaneous notes of ground ginger, cinnamon, light notes of clove and allspice.

The flavor is moderately-to-heavily sweet, lightly-to-moderately bitter with a long, unclean-feeling, moderately sweet, lightly bitter finish. Something about this just doesn’t clean up in the finish and feels coating.

The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.

Like the balance and amount of spices, reminiscent of gingerbread. MOboy (504) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - DEC 16, 2008
Big, full head with a body the color of hazy tea. Hoppy aroma with a faint Belgian wildness. The flavor is evidence of a Belgian yeast strain being used. Almost like a spiced saison. A very well made beer and a nice departure from the typical heavy, overly spiced ale of the season. brucebruce81 (391) - GUAM - DEC 2, 2011
This beer was ok, it had a weird flavor. I think it migh have been the orange flavor. jcnielsen (3412) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - DEC 19, 2012
Bottle. Pours a reddish color with white head. Spicy, caramel, nutmeg aromas. Spicy and caramel flavors. Very spicy. Not my favorite Christmas ale.

Aroma: The nose is full of winter spice, with some cookie, caramel, and orange/citrus
Appearance: It pours a clear reddish color with a small off-white head and minimal lace
Flavor: The flavor is fairly spicy as well, malty and fairly sweet, with a little bit of alcohol as well
Palate: The body is medium, it has an average-to-lively carbonation, and some mild heat
I thought this was an alright example of a winter warmer. They didn’t do anything wrong, but maybe I just expected a little better example from Schlafly. It isn’t bad, it just isn’t well rounded enough.
From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear deep amber with an ecru head. Spicy nose. Flavors of cinnamon, cloves, cranberry and orange zest. Medium bodied, high carbonation, effervescent finish. Westchesterco (2043) - mclean, Virginia, USA - DEC 3, 2013

The taste of the nutmeg and clove spice come through very strong but is in no way overpowering. Taste of the season for sure. OzarkElmo (319) - Poplar Bluff, Missouri, USA - JUL 4, 2014
Consumed Dec. 2013. Pours a dark amber with moderate head, diminishing. Definitely spices infused through the finish. Nice to sip on a few, but just not my thing. I will say most who tasted enjoyed this beer.
