Our Dry Hopped American Pale Ale (APA) is charged with American hops to create a bold, aromatic ale. Assertive hop flavor joins the pine/citrus aroma characteristic of American hops to balance the full body provided by North American malts. After fermentation, the beer circulates through a bed of Cascade and Chinook hops, boosting the distinctive hop aroma of this satisfying ale.

Excellent light amber flavor, hoppy and my kind of bitterness! Somewhat thin head, but a good American Pale Ale. Good one Schlafly!

Golden amber in color with a foamy white head that leaves a generous amount of lacing down the glass. Big inviting citrus hop hit in the aroma. Big hit of citrus hops are flowery and sweet. Long bitter finish with subtle malty notes. Crisp.

Its the Todd show staring DHAPA. From a wickedly cold icy tomb rises a mountainous froth that just sits there. A waxy apricot color and superb lacing. Strong aromas of fresh crispy citrus rind but it dissipates after a while. Full nectar with mellow carbonation creating a dense milky texture. A fat caramel malt backbone delivers a fresh load of snappy citrus with a bit of biscuiting. Beautifully balanced with a snappy finish. A really tasty brew.

On tap at the Taproom, bright amber-orange color, with a white head, yeasty, orange, apricot fruity nose, with some nice flowery hop leafy accents, with some notes of pine niddles, coniferous, and cedar, and hop citrusy note in faint toasty aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, citrusy, orange, lemon floral hop bitter character, with some intense, cedar, coniferous, resiny accents, with a leafy juiciness, with a light caramel malt note leading towards a zesty, limey, dry hoppy finsh.

12 oz bottle from acknud! Thanks! Nose of piney and floral hops; cloudycopper orange with a big pale yellow head; falvor has some bubblegum notes mixed with hop bitterness, the bubblegum notes disappearing after a few sips; finish is moderately bitter.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2008 Beer that Schlafly makes for the Boathouse Restaurant in Forrest Park. On tap at the restaurant. The body is dark orange and gold with a slightly off white head. The aroma has grapefruit and some floral notes. Lots of citrus. The taste has a citrus note with some bread crust. The finish is like fresh green beans.
Earlier Rating: 1/7/2006 Total Score: 3.4
The body was dark orange with a little haze. The was a thin whit ehead on top. The aroma was soapy with some grapefruit. The taste had grapefruit along with some light caramel and oced tea. The light body makes this very drinkable.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2009 I liked this one a lot! Picked this up at Sahara Mart. Pours a nice even amber color. Lots of piney and bitter hops. "Medium bodied" is the perfect way to describe this one. Doesnt overpower, but not watery at all. Has just a hint of malt, but it acts as a nice balance to the hops. I really dug this one and would have it again.

Pours a hazy golden brown with a fairly small off white head. Aroma is sweet smelling with a bunch of citrusy hops iin it. Taste is strong grapefruit citrus with a long bitter finish. Could use a little bit more malt profile but a very good beer nonetheless.

Clear particulate laden golden amber with large wispy off-white slowly diminishing head that laces quite nicely. Medium hope nose of citrus and floral aromas and a touch of bread & yeast. Decently balanced with a light bitter finish. A little light on hops taste-wise (grapefruit) for an APA, but not too bad.
