tap at brewery. Pours a deep brown / ruby red color with tiny off white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is nutty, slightly roasty, creamy, with a fair amount of citrusy hops (centennial or amarillo if I had to guess) . Flavor is malty, slight caramel notes, full of a fair amount of citrusy hops. Finish is slightly bitter, with an edgy metallic hop note that is not entirely pleasant. This is decent, but not overwhelming.
Very complex brown ale/IPA aroma. Slight roast, chocolate, good clean hops. Appearance is brown of course with a cream colored head that leaves tons of lacing. Tastes like malt and caramel up front with earthy hops to follow. Smooth yet perfectly carbonated palate. Just excellent. Probably the best brown ale I have had. Hazy, reddish-brown pour with a tan head. The aroma has some earthy hops along with bready malt. It has a medium body with smooth texture and average carbonation. The taste is bitter, but it melts quick to a milder, semi-dry finish. edgallow (4475) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 19, 2017

Keg @ Schlafly. Deep brown with red highlights. Small off-white head.
Aroma’s interesting. A bit of cocoa and charred malt with distinct highlights of pine cone, resin. Taste is wonderfully fresh and dynamic. Pine, dirt, conifer tree. Cocoa. Burnt toast. Bracining bitterness cleans things out on the finish. Medium body. Woah, this is good. ARH (1165) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 27, 2014
On tap poured into a shaker. The aroma is citrus orange, light raisin, and light licorice. It pours a dark, but clear caramel color with a light, tan creamy head. The head retains a thick ring with a light surface dusting and leaves a light web lace. The taste is a medium light bitter and a medium sweetness. The slick, full body has a creamy carbonation and finishes with orange, light licorice, and pine cone. The aftertaste is a mellow burnt flavor that has some lingering power.

This was a nice blend of style. It had the pleasant, sweet roastiness of a brown with the sharp, pungent citrusiness of the IPA. b3shine (9145) - Indiana, USA - NOV 4, 2013
Daft to pint. Looks good; a fairly transparent brown with foamy off-white head that slowly dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells solwithh nice, fairly bitter hop profile with notes of roast and malt. Tastes like it smells with a nice mouthfeel. Good beer. jcnielsen (3416) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 13, 2013
