tap at brewery. Pours a deep brown / ruby red color with tiny off white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is nutty, slightly roasty, creamy, with a fair amount of citrusy hops (centennial or amarillo if I had to guess) . Flavor is malty, slight caramel notes, full of a fair amount of citrusy hops. Finish is slightly bitter, with an edgy metallic hop note that is not entirely pleasant. This is decent, but not overwhelming.
Keg @ Schlafly. Deep brown with red highlights. Small off-white head.
Aroma’s interesting. A bit of cocoa and charred malt with distinct highlights of pine cone, resin. Taste is wonderfully fresh and dynamic. Pine, dirt, conifer tree. Cocoa. Burnt toast. Bracining bitterness cleans things out on the finish. Medium body. Woah, this is good. ARH (1125) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 27, 2014
On tap poured into a shaker. The aroma is citrus orange, light raisin, and light licorice. It pours a dark, but clear caramel color with a light, tan creamy head. The head retains a thick ring with a light surface dusting and leaves a light web lace. The taste is a medium light bitter and a medium sweetness. The slick, full body has a creamy carbonation and finishes with orange, light licorice, and pine cone. The aftertaste is a mellow burnt flavor that has some lingering power. ads135 (4587) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 29, 2014
This was a nice blend of style. It had the pleasant, sweet roastiness of a brown with the sharp, pungent citrusiness of the IPA. b3shine (8804) - Indiana, USA - NOV 4, 2013
Daft to pint. Looks good; a fairly transparent brown with foamy off-white head that slowly dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells solwithh nice, fairly bitter hop profile with notes of roast and malt. Tastes like it smells with a nice mouthfeel. Good beer. jcnielsen (3403) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 13, 2013
Sampled at Midwest Belgian Beer Festival. Pours a brown color with off white head. Roasted grainy flavor mixed with citrus hoppiness. Alright.

On cask at the brewpub it is a clear amber color with a slight head. The aroma is citrus and the taste is very citrusy which lingers on the palate Iphonephan (6952) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - AUG 6, 2013
On cask in the the tap room at the brewery in St. Louis. Pours a clear cola brown with an off white head. Malty nose with some fruity hop notes. Mellow mouthfeel and finish. freeofthoughts (688) - Raytown, Missouri, USA - SEP 19, 2012
Cask ale from hand puller at schlafly tap room pours dense cloudy medium brown with creamy foamy light beige head. Rich surprising aroma of citrusy hops with a light roasted grain, lightly floral hop aroma as well. The taste does not quite live up to the delicious aroma but follows close with the full unfiltered grain of the cask and a light touch of herbal bitter with dried leaves. There is a nice balancing bitterness and balancing bright floral and miniscule citrus flavor, complete beer well produced. Light palate a bit watery in the finish but that keeps it going down easy, solid effort. gregwilsonstl (2466) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - SEP 15, 2012

On cask at the taproom, reviewed second time around!
For a cask ale, this one looked great, with plenty of head and lots of lacing.
There’s no shortage in the smell or taste of delicious, pungent hops, lemony citrus, and lightly roasted malts. It’s the very definition of delicious, right up there with their APA and AIPA on cask, downright fantastic.
The body was rich and smooth, great feel; a wonderful cask ale served absolutely perfectly.
Overall it’s definitely A material beer on cask. Highly recommended in any serving type.
