A jet black pour with ruby highlights and a thin tan head. The aroma has milk chocolate, raisin, and roasted grain. It has a full body with creamy texture and above-average carbonation. The taste is bittersweet with a dry, roasted finish. DBob5150 (235) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - JAN 15, 2016
Dark brown, almost black body with a medium creamy head. Aroma is sweet licorice and roast toffee. The taste is sweet chocolate, carmel with a bit of an alcoholic aftertaste. Finish is slightly bitter, but mostly clean. Terminus (3683) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 31, 2015
Pours dark brown almost black with a light tan head that was very thin and somewhat soapy. Nose of dark chocolate, dry black patent malt, char and some anise. Flavors show the dark chocolate bigtime with lingering notes of char, roast and some marshmellow-maybe thats more in the body of the brew. big beer, but feels very drinkable and almost sessionable. I have had this many times over the past 10 years and its always consistent. Long finish of chocolate and lite char. solid stuff! mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 29, 2015

Overheard: "You’re gonna soil yourself later? Count me out."
A deep dark stout with a thin lacing brown head. In aroma, light chocolate and coffee notes, grassy hops, light mineral notes, pleasant. In mouth, a sweet fruity chocolate malt with light coffee notes, vanilla notes, light molasses and English hops, faint vinous character, very nice. Bottle from Bièropholie.

2015-08-21. Black body with a tan head fades. 3+ Aroma is sort of fruity with notes of treacle. Flavour is similar, treacle and caramel, light roast and dusty malt notes that linger in the finish. Smooth average plus bodied palate, modest carbonation. Enjoyable. Bottle from Ye Old Spirit Shop, Frederick, MD. Prufrockstar (2132) - Moscow, Idaho, USA - JUN 13, 2015
Bottle thanks to beastiefan2k. An imperial dry stout, eh? Dark brown (looks black except around the edges when held to the light) with khaki head of moderate duration, some lacing. Aroma brings caramel, roast, chocolate and figs. Taste: nice up front -- creamy, smooth, moderately sweet, followed by a wave of roasty, burnt ... well, just burnt. Light copper as well. Sweetness returns late in the game while I’m trying to figure out what that was in the middle. Surprising amount of dark fruit and molasses. Hard to peg this as a "dry" stout, even imperialized. Enjoyable, though, if a bit confused about its identity. jonas (7577) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - MAY 26, 2015
Bottle. Licorice and soy aroma. Black, dark brown cream. Molassis, fermented fruit sweetness, roast, licorice, umami. Medium body, a bit fizzy. Dry roast finish. Strong flavors,
seems a bit unharmonious. e303 (287) - - APR 26, 2015
Roasty and stouty aroma. Taste is roasty and sweet. Malty chocolate, some dark dried fruits. Super creamy mouthfeel. Dig it.
