Bottle. Darkest brown/black pour with a big tan head. Roasted malt aroma with a bit of sweet malt and a hint of alcohol. Sweet malt flavor up front with some booze influence and a dry finish. drfabulous (7816) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - AUG 22, 2008
Another forgotten rating. Not an intense stout - thus the "Irish" label. Overall, dark and nice. TaktikMTL (7733) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 13, 2013

Bottle. Licorice and soy aroma. Black, dark brown cream. Molassis, fermented fruit sweetness, roast, licorice, umami. Medium body, a bit fizzy. Dry roast finish. Strong flavors,
seems a bit unharmonious. Strykzone (7308) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - APR 19, 2009
So dark, rich, and thick with a nice tan head. Flavor is very nice chocolate and coffee. Feel is substantial. This is a very nice stout and one that I will seek out again.

Pours an opaque black with a small, but dense and frothy, wispy-lacing dark tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet, toasty, dark chocolate and caramel malts along with some doughy chestnut character. Starts with a nice viscosity and velvety texture revealing semi-sweet dark caramel and chocolate flavors toward a smooth, lightly roasted bittersweet finish. A nice and true to style foreign stout. From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a dark cola with a thick tan head. Toasted malt nose. Flavors of milk chocolate and root beer. Slightly bitter roasty finish. wlajwl (6750) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - JAN 30, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 1, 2012 Aroma is coffee, earthy malts, dark fruit and grains. The flavor is complex malts mixed with dark fruit, with a dry, bitterness mixed with a touch of alcohol in the finish. This is among the most difficult beer styles to find in my area, Guinness is the only other one around that makes this style, so I don’t have much to compare it to, otherwise this was very good on its own. Bottle. Poured with the expected visual, thick as oil, topped with froth. Wow, this is freaking delicious -- chocolate milk and coffee, full-on. Nice thick mouthfeel. Well done! (#4507, 2/26/2012) Patrickctenchi (6560) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - FEB 7, 2012
Deeep Black, nice dark tan head, tons of carbonation....nose is a strong berry, expected more coffee and chocolate....you get this in the taste.....Cola, Chocolate, licorice, coffee- creamy smooth, but dry...strong, but not overbearing in anyway, alcohol is nicely hidden, sweet with a bitter hint after....I really enjoyed this beer. Definitely one I’ll keep on hand.
