12 ounce bottle. Served in a Sam Adams BL glass, the beer pours a clear gold color with about a half inch white head. Head retention is decent, lacing is good. Aroma is grain, grapes, green apples, lemon and some floral hops. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the grainy and lemon flavors being the strongest. Mouthfeel/body is light, it’s crisp and clean with moderate carbonation. Drinkability is good, it’s smooth and goes down easy. I think this is a decent overall brew, and not a bad choice as a session beer. MrRain (472) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JAN 2, 2010
Draft at the Tap Room. This is a staple beer for me and I don’t know why I’m just now rating it. This beer has a nice grainy aroma with a hint of lager and pilsener smell. It pours clear golden yellow with tiny little carbonation bubbles. The flavor is slightly dry and fruity and represents the style extremely well. This is a summertime must if you’re in the area. shrubber85 (11411) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - DEC 22, 2009
Bottle. Mild barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with minimal head. Light butter and barley malt flavor. Mild grass hops finish. Very nice. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 23, 2009
( 12oz bottle thanks to BA jfeger) Pours about 1 finger of head, that dissipates quickly. Pale yellow true to style, but the lacing on the glass makes it more special and raises its score. Nose of slightly sour apple, some sweet malt, spices. Taste is very crisp like a lager, but lacks the bad bitterness I associate with that style of beer. Some good spices, very refreshing, maybe a light citrus, slightly bittering hops which are welcome. Carbonation and weight are really just average. Nothing special, but not bad. I could drink this all night. No aspect lingers in a bad way, and it’s a well balanced beer. Nice kolsch! BeerHawk (1810) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - OCT 11, 2009
Draft. Golden in the glass with a creamy white head that left thick lacing and some lasting. Aromas of floral and grain with a toasted malt background. The flavor found grain and lemon. Light body and crisp.

bottle - Pours clear gold with a very thin white head. It has a light malt aroma. The flavor is light and sweet with a touch of hops and a touch of fruit character. It’s light bodied as expected for the style and finishes clean. Not bad. zombywoof (467) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - SEP 18, 2009
Kolschs aren’t really my favorite style by a long shot but this is better than most I’ve had. Light grainey quality with floral notes. Has a little bit of a farmhouse ale character to it-just a bit. Light body creamy texture. travita (5006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 5, 2009
Bottle thanks to Thirdeye11. The smell is floral, perfume, hops, and grains. The look is golden in color with a white head. The taste is malts, hops, floral, decent but weak. smart001 (45) - Scott AFB, Illinois, USA - SEP 3, 2009
[bottle] An overall average beer. I enjoy the beers Schlafly puts out and this one was no exception. Mouthfeel is thin, color is clear/golden yellow. There was a little bitterness to at the finish, but not detracting. bblack99 (527) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - AUG 30, 2009
Bottle, 4/2009 (why so old? Kansas City isn’t far from StL at all!). Poured a perfectly clear pale yellow with a fizzy bright white head with decent retention and lacing.
Slightly sweet, slightly hoppy, slightly funky aroma - all relatively subtle. Very light mouthfeel with a medium-strong carbonation, definitely a summer beer. Flavors of light grainy malt, light citrus, and bits of yeast and pepper. Finishes dry.
