Draught at Churchkey. Bright yellow, edge head. Aroma of white pepper and malt. Taste is malty with a slightly sour edge. More interesting than your standard Kolsch.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. Crispy straw and pale cereal in the aroma. Light sweet flavour with simple white bread, more cereal, light bitter hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Clean finish, with cereal and biscuits, faint lemon, straw. Solid.

On tap @ Schlafly. Clear golden pour with a white head. Bready malt, some sweet apple, and a light grassiness. A little bit watery. Lots of bready malt on the palate. Tons of apple and floral hops. A bit low on the carbonation and somewhat watery. Easy to drink, I suppose.

bhensonb (15242) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 13, 2008
Bottle from the Beergeek. Amber gold, nearly orange, color with a minimal white head. Aroma of mild malt and light, fruity hop. Near medium body with near creamy carbonation. Flavor is a bit caramel, which seems odd for the style, and the hop is quite light, just enough for balance, which seems right for the style. About as light and smooth as kolsch should be, just a bit too much malt.

Ratman197 (14852) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - AUG 31, 2010
Bottle poured a clear golden yellow with a small lasting white head. Aromas of crackers, light spicy hops, light earthiness and a hint of citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of crackers, citrus and a hint of earthiness with a crisp dry finish.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Zvika’s place. Thanks zvikar. Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is a bit oxidized, with a bit of skunk, a bit of malt, and a bit of graininess. Sweetish flavor with bready malt, light graininess and a mildly bitter finish with notes of grassy hops. Light to medium-bodied.

Tmoney99 (14497) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 19, 2007

Lubiere (13915) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 1, 2015
A hazed blonde kolsch with a thin white head. In aroma, light biscuit malt with grassy hops, grainy notes, OK. In mouth, a sweet fruity biscuit malt with light grassy hops, light grainy notes, pedestrian.

Drake (13741) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 22, 2010
12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA. Poirs a clear pale golden color with a large head. Decent head retention and lacing. The aroma is primarily grassy hops with some faint grainy notes. The taste is grassy hops with a tart malty finish and a bit of corn. Medium bodied. Meh.
