My 2nd mead; this thing packed quite a punch, almost tasted like a mix of honey lemon cough syrup & a low end wine product. Would def. try again if I had a chance.

Draft pour at GTMW 2013. Pours a pale, clear yellow with no head. Looks like a white wine. Honey, florals, grapes- not much too this. Definitely some booze here. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a vinous, sweet mouthfeel. A bit heavy at the end. I seem to like this better than others but I tend to favor meads. Not as good as the Blackberry Mead that Schlafly did last year.

Pours and drinks like a Chardonnay. Very little nose. Warm but not aggressively alcoholic, which I surprising for 14.5% abv (per the sign at the tap house). Almost effervescent on the front of the tongue, otherwise silky-smooth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fluorescent yellow color (almost unnatural), no head, no carb. Aroma has a very light floral nose, light apple and pear fruitiness and an overall non-descript sweetness. Flavor has a very strong sweetness and best description for this is to think of a super concentrated white wine flavor (10x fold). Mild amount of alcohol but not hot. Body is light, sugary sticky. Overall not that good. The nose and flavor really miss the mark as they lack any complexity or diversity.

On tap at Schlafly Tap Room. Comes a clear yellow with no head. Aroma of florals and alcohol. Taste is honey, fruit, alcohol, and spices. Not to familiar with meads. Difficult to rate.

Tap @ Schlafly St. Louis. Pours a yellow appearance with no head. Still, dull honey, herbal, bland aroma. Apple juice, spicy honey, light citrusy, zesty flavor. Not all that good.

Well, I was hoping to like this a lot more than I did. Pours light clear yellow with no head. The aroma is floral and sweet with honey notes, but it’s not a pleasing as most honey traits from either beer or other meads. It has a full slick body that while full compared to what I normally drink it isn’t as lush as some of the bigger meads. The taste is fairly sweet and has way too heavy of an alcohol taste even for 14.5%. There is also an earthy aspect - this could be from the type of honey used. There is a little spiciness as well. Fair.

Well I hadn’t tried more than one mead in the past, so not much to compare on. Clear and just slightly tan, no carbonation, foam, or lace. Pungent smell of alcohol and a little honey at best. Kinda reminded me of saki. Enjoyable but I’d certainly not want more than a four ounce glass at a time. Alcohol very notable on the smell and taste. Thin, alcoholic body. Interesting though.
