12 pour from room temperature bottle into Spiegelau stout glass. Dark brown to black, opaque, huge tan head. Nose is caramel sweetness, coffee, and oats. Mouthfeel is creamy and moderately carbonated. Taste is interesting. Sweet and very dry. Bitter malts, dark coffee, and raisin. A good stout if you?re looking for roasty and assertive. arn8897 (455) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - MAR 20, 2015
Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate with a little dark fruit like fig or plums. Light lacing in the glass. Palate is medium to light. Taste of coffee and dark fruit. Not to sweet a little more bitter than most stouts. Overall nice beer. nathan30533 (1022) - Clifton, Ohio, USA - MAR 8, 2015
Tasty sweet stout. This ones smells of armoma of nuts and roasted malts. Looks good and medium dark as a pour into a glass. Ok stout but nothing that really stands out to me and gives it that character. FestDecBeet (412) - - FEB 19, 2015
Look: pours a dark black. Brown highlights on the edges. Light brown sugar head that fades quickly. Thin lacing.
Smell: smells like a chocolatey lager. Oatmeal. Bitter coffee.
Taste: coffee. Oatmeal. Bitter coffee. Slight chocolate.
Feel: creamy mouthfeel. Very smooth. Medium low carbonation.
Overall: easy drinker Very smooth. Too much coffee for me, but still ok.

Average. Aroma is roasted malt with some dark fruit notes. Taste is lots of roasted barley flavor with some faint caramel and raisin notes. Finish is a slightly smooth with very little body--would have like more body... hershiser2 (3832) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - FEB 2, 2015
Nearly black with a tiny tan head.
Alcohol, chocolates, and coffee in the nose.
Roasted barley - slightly smoky, slightly rubbery. Reminds me a bit of a pinotage in the smokiness/rubberiness (I happen to enjoy a good pinotage, so this is a plus for me).

Pours black with a thin off white ring. Aroma is roasted malts, oatmeal and bitter chocolate. Taste is just a great basic oatmeal stout. Well made, no glaring errors. Sammy (13013) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 14, 2014
Bottle received in trade, just short of two years now. Black, a tad thin in head and taste. Lots of lace. Interesting now. Strangely boozy aroma. LetsGoState (914) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 6, 2014
Aroma is sweet malts. Taste is toasted nuts and chocolate. Overall not the best example of an oatmeal stout.
