Bottle pours dark chocolate with ruby accents, small off-white frothish head that quickly dissipates, but with decent lacing.   Aroma is very light, mostly roasted malts.   Flavor is equally light, just hints of roasted malts and not much else.   Body & mouthfeel were both thin.   A very non offensive easy to drink Sweet Stout, but I need something with more character.   Thanks goes out to MarkR for the trade. Black and opaque, no head. Aroma is mostly roasted, with some malt sweetness and a light dose of carmel. Flavor is slightly smokey but mostly sweet. Mouthfeel is watery and a little buttery. Finish is slighty dry and roasted. flutetokill (523) - Fresno, California, USA - APR 26, 2004
Opaque black color with a medium beige head. Sweet oatmeal, malt, chocolate and roasty aroma and flavors. Smooth, creamy feel. Very nice. flemdawg (562) - Rowlett, Texas, USA - APR 24, 2004
Oatmeal domintates the aroma, but there are dark roasted chocolate, and some malts in there as well. Murky brown color with a very sparse tan head that was left over from a decent sized beginng. A very oaty taste up front, but that give way to a nice bitterness. Hints of cocoa in there as well. A rather dry finish that seems to linger a bit. Over all rather tasty. Black opaque with light tan head. The aroma is lightly fruity with lots of roastiness & light smoke. The flavor is very nice with some light hop balance & lots of mocha, chocolate/coffee goodness. Finishes creamy & milky with a lingering roastyness. Thanks MarkR!

Ahh! Opaque brown. Smallish head and little lacing. Roast and coffee, light soy sauce and smoke. Smoky flavors. Roasted malts, more coffee tones and bitter hops. Body is on the thick side and a palate filled with smoke. civforprez (229) - Galesburg, Illinois, USA - APR 14, 2004
I had this out of the tap and bottle. Pours dark brown with a mimimal head. It is smooth and the taste is subtle, but not bitter. I can't wait to try it again a few times just to be sure. jgb9348 (6252) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - APR 3, 2004
Dark brown coloured body with a lighter tan head. aroma of chocolate and coffee flavours. Medium-bodied; Strong malt taste with chocolate very noticeable. Chewy aftertaste with sweetness coming out of every tastebud. Overall, a very nice oatmeal, definately worth trying! I got this twelve ounce bottle from Phil (haddon90) in Knoxville, Tennessee...thanks again Phil! ClarkVV (6708) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - APR 1, 2004
UPDATED: DEC 6, 2004 2003 bottle. Pours a dark greyish-brown but has some softer amber tinges. Good cream colored head. Smells immensely creamy and oaty. Like a bowl of thick creamy oats but also a scent of vanilla. Man I love flaked oats. I enjoyed the aroma so much, that I couldnt stop myself from diving right in to the tasting of this one. And what a flavor. Smooth, creamy, silky. Big oats flavor, vanilla hints, malt in the background. Just incredibly drinkable. I drank this beer in about 2 minutes and immediately wanted another. No trace of alcohol. Not as complex as say Bell’s Double cream, but the oaty goodness is out of this world and the palate could not be any more rich, smooth and balanced. 3fourths (9345) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 22, 2004
From bottle and tap. Bottle smelled like butt... musty and thick chocolate. Tap didn't have much flavor to offer at all. Watery but gritty. Just a little roasted malts.
