Tastes OK, not much aroma, and very bland taste. Carbonation is OK but not much body

Pours a copper, or maybe honey color. About one finger slightly beige head, without a very aggressive pour. A little residual head, some lacing but not much. A little cloudy, and maybe some sediment in there, or maybe it’s tiny bubbles, I can’t quite tell.

Aroma is pretty light, not much to it. I smell light honey. Light lemon zest. Lightly bready. Light roasted malts. Everything about the aroma is light.

Taste is quite malty, it’s pretty well balanced between sweet and bitter. Bready malts are dominate in the taste, although not heavy.

Mouthfeel is medium body despite everything else is so light. It’s barely dry. This is a very sessionable beer.

Overall, it’s pretty good. It won’t blow you away, but it’s decent enough to make you want another. But yes, I would buy this again, and yes, I would recommend this as a good English Pale Ale.

Pours pale gold with a white head. Aroma is earthy, grainy and light citrus. Taste is light bitters with a touch of sweetness. Light bodied, easy to drink and refreshing.

sawbuck (755) - Round Lake, Illinois, USA - SEP 10, 2015
Nice aroma of fresh bread, and malt. Deep orange amber color with a tan head that quickly fades. Rich sweet malt up front. Some caramel, and a slight toffee note follows initial sweetness. Dry bitterness next. Slightly watery mouth feel. Finish is mostly balanced, with a slight peppery bitterness right at the end. Not bad.

Not especially great rather flat and uninteresting. Could do with more malt flavour..

12 oz. bottle pours a sparkly brownish gold color with average white head and a bit of lacing. Aroma has grains and malts. Flavor is bready and grassy. Taste is slightly bitter, with light to medium body, average carbonation, and a crisp mouthfeel. I expected more hops in a pale ale. Nothing bad here, but nothing memorable either.

Bottle. Aroma is mild malt with resinous hops and some basement aroma. Appearance is clear golden brown with nice sparkle, 2 finger-width head with fair retention and fair lacing. Taste is light sweet which is dominated by light bitter. Palate is light bodied with thin texture with average carbonation and bitter-dominant finish. Overall, a pretty mild offering that looks nice and is more bitter than sweet.

Floback (550) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - APR 28, 2015
Bottle as part of a Schlafly sampler pack. I enjoyed their pumpkin ale so much, I wanted to try some others by them. Pours a standard amber color with a half inch of white head that recedes quickly. Loose, spotty lacing on the glass. Thin aroma of grains. Flavors of bread, subtle malty caramel. Not much else. Medium carbonation and medium body. This isn’t a bad tasting beer, but very boring and forgettable. I certainly hope the oatmeal stout and APA in this pack are better than this. Otherwise, I’ll be sticking to their pumpkin ale as the only recurring purchase of Schlafly’s offerings.
