COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Full-bodied and black as night, this is a robust and unique stout with roasted aromas, rich flavors, and hints of earthy chocolate. The appropriate amount of hops provide balance while the Belgian crystal malt and German smoked malt lend complexity thanks to being thoroughly smoked on beechwood chips, giving the finished beer that dark, appealing essence.

Bottle. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of smoke, malts, chocolate and coffee. The taste was similar to the aroma with more smoke, malts, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and wood. It had medium carbonation with a nice smoky aftertaste. Tasty.

25.4oz bottled on 2/7/17 thanks to my mom. Nose is burnt roast and faint smoke. Sip adds dark milk chocolate, more roast and minimal smoke. body is thinner than the motor oil pour suggested. Weird quasi metallic finish. As a smoked beer lover, I am disappointed. ABV listed as 9.4%. Dark chocolate bitterness with a slight sweet finish.

Pours very dark with a tan head. The aroma has lots of smoke, meatiness, smooth roast and peat. It has a fairly full body with a light amount of carbonation. The taste has heavy roast, licorice, smoke, woodiness, spice and minor meatiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Oh yeah. Draft at Bridge. Strong sweet smoke complemented by a strong stout that is not acidic, soft if not a bit watery. Strong alcohol and bark like malts at the end. A little salty aroma. Fun for me.

One of my favorite styles and this one is done fairly well. The smoke could be amped up a little more for my liking but otherwise a nice beer with chocolate, caramel malts with a smoke backing.
