12 oz. bottle from The Party Source. The pour is deep golden amber with a medium fine off white head. The aroma has notes of caramel, vanilla, wood, and hints of cherries and dried fruit. Not as hoppy as expected from reading the label. Still bourbony, boozy notes offer a reminder of where this beer has been. Caramel flavor is equally as rich and dominant upfront in the taste as it was in the nose. Vanilla and well blended bourbon swirl around in the mouth and create a varying complexity of tastes. Near mid-palate the hops come in with a mild grassy, herbal taste. Very smooth from the bourbon barrel aging. The alcohol remains hidden for the most part behind the hop bitterness and sweet malt, but shows itself in the nice warmth it creates as you empty your glass. I would like to know what the abv is on this one.

Source: 12 oz bottle.
Appearance: Poured a clear amber color with a one finger off white head.
Aroma: Sweet malt, caramel, vanilla and bourbon.
Flavor: Bourbon and vanilla dominate, but not overdone. Solid malt base.
Palate: Medium/full body with solid carbonation.
Overall: Made only for Kentucky release. This stuff was great at 10 bucks a sixer. Listed as a mixture of their pale ale and barleywine. Well done.
