COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlafly Tasmanian IPA is brewed with 100% Australian hops. The Tasmanian hop, Galaxy, is a strong, aromatic variety that is different from traditional strains of the Pacific Northwest. Our brewers developed a recipe that showcases the hop’s unique flavors of citrus and pineapple.

12 oz. bottle poured to my sampler glass at the Lakeshore Beverage Trade Show in Chicago, showing a fairly clear, golden hue, with frothy, soft white head foam, and clingy dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was dank, earthy, grass & greenery, with light tropical & citrusy scent. Medium bodied, with decent carbonation, the taste include a nice, even bitterness that was citrusy & resinous. An appreciated departure from common IPA expression, especially in the aroma.

Nose is dank and citrus. Flavor is very hoppy, earthy and piney. Pours cloudy orange with a thick cream colored head. Really crushable. This their best offering to date. Had out of a bottle at home.

Bottled 9 days ago. This stuff is fresh! Aroma is tangerine , pineapple, shaved coconut, and dank pine. Oily mouthfeel. Flavor starts out with pineapple and tangerine and finishes with grapefruit and dank sticky pine resin. Fantastic brew.

The aroma is strong and hoppy, but not all that pleasant. I am not getting any of the citrus and pineapple from the description, but it does have an odd vinegar quality to it. More spice than citrus. Very nice looking dark golden color with a stark white head. The taste has more of the spicy hop character. Very hoppy, somewhat bitter with only a slight amount of malt backing it up. I can’t dog this one out completely because I have never had an IPA that I have truly hated, but overall I was disappointed with this one. The high rating and limited availability (even in St. Louis) had me expecting the best.

2015-09-08. Hazy golden orange, modest lacey beige head. 3+ Aroma is lightly green with lightly muddled orange and tangerine citrus character. Flavour is fruity, moderately bitter throughout, muddled orange citrus. Enjoyable. Dangerously drinkable. Bottle from Ye Old Spirit Shop, Frederick, MD.
