Mellow, malty and quite interesting. One of my favorite Schlafly brews. Very drinkable - a session brew. TAR (2765) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - APR 8, 2002
Aroma is toasted grains. Some interesting flavors going on here, especially for a lager; very hoppy, toasted malt, and very crisp. Palate is spritzy and very clean. Hop burp to boot. This was sheer drinking bliss. Reminded me of Snake River Vienna. Indra (2711) - Suburbia, Kansas, USA - MAY 20, 2002
Nice typical Vienna style deep red clear coloration. Slight head, no carbonation visible, but lively mouthfeel regardless. Some malty sweetness in the aroma. Interesting palate, halfway inbetween sweet & hoppy. Bites you in the cheeks! Finish is both sweet & hoppy as well. This is most surely an American interpretation, but it’s interesting. sneagrams3 (2337) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 1, 2008
Tasted 3/29/08. On draft from the Tap Room. Filtered with a deep amber hue. Layer of white head. Mild grainy nose. Rather cold, but better than most places. Fresh! So fresh! Mild to medium bodied with smooth light malts. Tight carbonation. Tight moderately hoppy finish. Good bread flavor. Typical Schlafly house yeast character. Coating. Typically a light O’Fest. Slight sweet vanilla undertone. Slight bitterness. Tasty! kwoeltje (2233) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - SEP 17, 2005
(Hop in the City) Medium gold. Small head. Nice malt aroma with caramel malty flavor.

a pleasant experience all around. an attractive lady with me for lunch at the brewpub after a long road trip and this nice little beer in front of me. poured a light copper with a decent head. fruity nose, with a flavor that was a bit of the same plus a nice floral hop character. really went well with the meal. Aroma of grapes and light floral hops. Appearance is reddish brown with tan head. Flavor matches the nose with some nuttiness and biscuit. Palate is lively and foamy. Not wild about the style, but alright. seymour (2045) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - SEP 17, 2012
Sampled on tap at the 2012 Schlafly Hop In The City festival. It poured a medium orangish-amber color with a thin but persistent off-white head. Aromas of pils malt, strong caramel, floral and slightly peppery noble (Saaz?) hops. 100% true-to-style Vienna flavors as well: balanced malt sweetness to citrusy hops bitterness, complex caramelized sugars. Light-medium body, average carbonation, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, lasting tangy aftertaste. Low alcohol, super-easy drinking. Just plain enjoyable. igneous1 (1535) - Davenport, Iowa, USA - OCT 11, 2003
hazy light golden, thin head. aroma is slightly roasty with some hops. flavor has some roast especially the aftertaste. detected an aroma of extinguished cigarette butts. JoeinDahlem (1521) - Berlin, GERMANY - SEP 7, 2010
Reddish-orange-amber with sweet biscuit nose... cookies with notes of orange zest. Moderately sweet malty taste, lightly bitter, with that zesty note. Could be drier and a touch hoppier, but it gets the point across.
